What is Power Ledger ? It is a decentralized energy trading platform.
Power Ledger develops cutting-edge blockchain energy solutions for the people of the world. They exist to empower and to provide individuals and communities with access to electricity that is low-cost, reliable, and renewable.
They see a changing energy ecosystem, where control is moving from centralized energy retailers, to consumers on edge of the grid. A system that allows users to choose the source of your electricity. To be part of an economy where households that generate electricity can trade with their neighbours and get a fair return on their investment.
The catalyst is the proliferation of distributed energy resources, DERs for short, like solar. With Power Ledger consumers will be able to buy and sell renewable energy.
Why are they in Thailand ? Power Ledger just recently signed agreement With BCPG to bring distributed renewable energy trading to Thailand! In a Sansiri first housing green energy plan, which building managers will be able to trade renewable energy from solar panels installed on each building with autonomous financial settlement enabled via the use of a secure banking interface.
