This little shit was an utter thug last night! He started barking and mythering at the patio door. I went to let him out the kitchen side door, and he let out a wail as you've never heard and shot off like a rocket round to the patio doors. Trapped and unable to escape, there was a hedgehog wedged up against the pot plants with Charlie millimetres away, barking his arse off at the petrified ball of spikes. I picked Charlie up, who clearly knew he might have gone a bit too far, and brought him in.
Half an hour later, I let Charlie out again. Within seconds Charlie was barking the garden down again, and poor Mr Hedgehog, who had clearly been trying to make his escape, was now wedged up against the garden rake and hosepipe. Again I retrieved Charlie telling him "Leave him alone, you horrible sod." Time was getting on, and the best course of action was to take him to bed.
Fast Forward to this morning, and I literally opened my eyes, and Charlie shot off the bed, legged it down the stairs and was waiting by the closed front room door. I let Charlie out into the garden, who promptly searched the grounds of CastleCannon far better than any drugs squad could have done. Clearly, Charlie had spent the night planning his revenge on Mr Hedgehog? I fully expect him to be zonked out asleep for most of the morning today. 🤣

Our old dog shouted at a hedgehog and ended up with a load of fleas years ago. Our pets still think they are great hunters even though all their food is provided. Cats can be worse as they catch so many birds and other creatures. Not ours though as she doesn't go out much and is not very quick. Doesn't stop her trying at times though.
