Your awaiting announcement.
You could have noticed a change in the reward adjustment and it goes like this 3% for the daily prize and 3% for the Heist (except for the sunday event).
It wasn’t an easy choice on our side, but it is the option that is leading the game for a better development. With an equal distribution percentage it will result in a better inflation control.
We are aware that with this change players will probably see the game in a different way, and maybe it’s for the best. We hope that with this revision, the players will think again about their gaming tactics and mature it as the game matures as well. We’ve seen this word “Ponzi” related to Drugwars but with this adjustment in the reward mechanism, we are changing the deal and we won’t let players giving a false impression to newcomers as how it used to be this past 2 weeks.
We don’t see Drugwars as a game you play one or two weeks, but we want it to be something you would spend lots of time on (for free or not), and be part of the community of Drug Lords.
Back to the root.
We started Drugwars with “Get paid to rule your world” as we wanted something strong, something powerful, something impactful, but it was too directed towards money while Drugwars is a game. Few days ago we decided to switch for "The drugs and the guns are virtual but the money is real". Agree, it is still a strong one with a slight reference to money. Obviously you are still going to say that the slogan is still about money and investment, but hey, have you noticed that everyday you are waiting for the midnight event aka the daily prize and heist? It’s a special feature on Drugwars and it has the right to be mentioned in the slogan. But we reduced its impact so that new players won’t be confused about the fact that it’s a game.
What’s next?
As we said, Drugwars is in it early access stage which is why modifications can be made any time. Still no modifications are made to hurt the players, it’s all about improving the game day by day and preparing its future.
Soon, Battles will be available and it will be the time to steal, rob, raid, betray for ressources.
Gangs will be introduced in a cool way.
Then Missions will be available which will provide rewards for the accomplishment.
Gang Missions and Gangs Leaderboard will be opened as well as the introduction of Gang Rewards.
The apparition of unique and legendary units/items (with a system like in Diablo) to make your empire incomparable to any others.
Search Warrant as a way to reward the most courageous one and a way to control the feared ones. A bounty system to put a contract on your enemy; and many other cool features which will add a lot of fun to the game.

We said earlier that behind-the-scene it’s hectic, like mega hectic. We are not only developing the game everyday that you can see on the platform but we are also working on the background, marketing and financial side of the game. We are looking for different revenue stream and fortunately for us, we have different choices coming to us.
On top of that, we are working on a new fictional “cryptocurrency” that will be implemented in the game as THE Drugwars currency. We are still brainstorming, debating, and adjusting it. This new chapter will come but not anytime soon.
But who knows...one morning you wake up and the daily prize changes and one morning you wake up to see some cryptocurrency at your empire door if you keep on playing…

All of these sound incredibly FUN. I think people are losing sight of the fact that this is a GAME not a mutual fund. There has been a lot of chatter about ROI... but I am encouraged that your team seems to be more focused on FPD (fun per dollar). That is honestly what I hope you spend the majority of your time on. Continue making this game as fun as possible. If you do, plenty of people will gladly play and be thrilled with a small steem return. After all, millions of people pay to play video games every day. I don't know very many who get anything in return.
And for the record, I am not saying "too bad, so sad" to people who only invested in this game because they want a return on their investment. If this game explodes, I am sure those investors will be extremely happy.
Hopefully, those people can look at this as a long term investment (or a entertaining game) and do things to cultivate it and encourage its growth beyond current steemians. If this game grows, we will all benefit... while having a ton of fun!

While something had to change, it's also disturbing that 166,000 Steem was sent to Drug Wars under a certain set of rules and expectations, and now they are changed. I foresee they will need to change again in the near future as the problems I mentioned in my post still exist they are just slowed down a tiny amount.
They stated its early stage. You have invested with the knowing that it is early stage and something will be changed while the further development of the game.
"Early Stage" yet 166K Steem was spent.
I find it interesting that you seem dismayed at how your expectations of beneficial interest from investment are not met similarly in this game as they have been on Steem.
Maybe you can convince the devs that you and other significant investors might be accorded superior rights of rapine as you are on Steem? I reckon you have some influence due to your stake, just as you do on Steem, and might find it more profitable than whining in a comment.
Give it a try. Worst they can say is no, and you have the stake to make them an offer they can't refuse. Perhaps you'll remember my counsel in the event you are availed of benefits from taking it.

Reducing the daily prize pool percentages lengthens the half-life of the prize pool, allowing more time for income streams to replenish it and lessening possible depletion.

Doesn’t work without steemians jumping on the newest shiniest thing and pumping their STEEM in it.
While a lot could be said about the [too] early alpha release, the people involved have too much reputation at stake for an exit scam. Definitely at these bear market rates.
If anybody invested 400STEEM with the hopes of fast ROI, they should next invest their STEEM in something math and economics courses.
I invested reasonable amounts knowing perfectly well the more you invest the more you shoot yourself in the foot, specially in early access games. Some players don't care about roi, they like the game for what it is and are throwing tons of Steem to fund the development. This can still be a cool game to play, but like I said time will tell.

Poor steemians...trongoo, ethgoo, trongold...same recipe, all ponzis. These games can life for a week a month or two..rarely 3. I was in REALLY early, and I just made ROI today. I might make a few more steem before it is not going to make me any more steem and I will just leave because it is not an actual game..it is just spend steem to make steem, and when you dont make any steem anymore, there is no point. I believe (I don't know... just what I read between the lines) the "pool" hasn't changed and it's still 80% of their income (?!) and they're just stretching it a bit over more time by reducing it to 6% payout daily, what used to be 8%?!

Decreasing Passive income means they can distribute it for a longer time. They are still keeping the same amount.

Same here. I dumped a little steem and my rewards went up to over 0.05 steem per day. They started to drop and i dumped a little more steem. After I quit dumping they went down to around 0.04. Still dumping time just not dumping steem. Now that they cut the daily rewards in half "so it wouldnt look like a Ponzi scheme" my rewards have went below 0.02. Maybe ill try the hiest. Probably not investing more steem unless i see a way to get a r.o.i.
Do you look for roi in playstation games? Freemium games all have this pay to win aspect to some extent, but I have never seen the term ROI bandied around so much as in this group.

Well FPS are little more fun than clicking few buttons every 24 hrs.
I prefer RTS, plus I tend to get motion sickness from FPS type games.
Maybe you're right. This is a super fun game. The first day I signed up I was up for hours playing it all night. It keeps me busy all day long. There is so much action in this game. Maybe I should stop thinking about the Roi and start thinking about the hours upon hours of fun I have playing it every day.
I dunno. I reckon plotting and scheming regarding ROI is a novel feature of this particular game. I'd go with it, because it's unique amongst similar games, and will probably prove an enduring reward - along with actual returns from investing Steem.
That you also enjoy the other features of the game kinda makes it a no brainer from my perspective.

MUCH to do? After some time you can only do one or two updates per day..it takes literally 1 click and 1 second and thats it. Its not a fun game. Its just trying to calculate what will give you the most ROI. Eventually there is nothing left.
