I wanted to do a brief update on DTube currently. A lot of people that check into the original interface https://d.tube/ won't get anything to load but to get that to work you need to go to settings and change the API connection to one of the other options.

These options work and connect to the current fork we are on. I personally don't suggest using that original front end because various things on it were changed on a couple of the alternatives. These are two approved and trusted front ends.

I just checked the DTube Go Mobile app and it did successfully load and connect to a working API.

I set up a Leader node to help with stability since some nodes were going down.

They know all the changes and hurdles that need to be figured out to get the current system running correctly. Without them and several others this project would be toast. @eduardlex for keeping the community filled in on Discord and many others.

Liquidity
There is currently no exchange support to DTC. The Binance and Ethereum bridges are down because they were managed by the original dev which has left the project. The Ionomy exchange went down a couple of years ago which supported DTC.
There have been several bridging options talked about and additional exchange options bounced around as well to reestablish trading. Right now some trading is happening individually between members through Discord.
Functionality
Overtime because of hosting expenses there is no direct upload options currently. There are peer to peer options like IPFS but I have not tested those currently.
Most people are submitting their links to videos they uploaded to YouTube currently and it embeds those into the interface. Also it is a multi poster and allows you to not only supply the upvote on DTube it also will upvote users on the other platforms they have also connected to so it could give them upvotes across HIVE, STEEM, and Blurt.
Going Forward
In the immediate term I'm going to take additional notes on what worked getting the Leader node up. Also I'm going to launch a testnet environment so I can test various things and launch another front end. Ultimately we need to reestablish liquidity. I have several plans drawn out and also a few of the leaders also have various other solutions as well.

Positive Vibes
I actually think the project is in a better position now than it was a year ago for multiple reasons and there are a lot of strengths of the Avalon chain vs other DPoS blockchains. It has all been an experiment in a lot of ways but seeing how the rewards distribute based on voting power and the amount of activity overtime has been insightful. DTube essentially has liquid stake and a users voting power builds 1 VP/DTUBE/hour and when you burn a DTC you get 4,400 VP/DTUBE. We have also got to observe the tokenomics and evolution of all the other DPoS chains. There is a lot that can be learned from that and I feel that as people see some of the updates they will reengage with this project and we will attract new community members and developers to the project. Previously the project had big names like Furious Pete and the Hodge Twins. With the right momentum we can build off of what has been created. Now there are more options. Hosting on Rumble. Decentralized hosting on ICP canisters. AMM Decentralized Exchanges so there is constant liquidity. More options for cross chain swaps. It isn't going to be easy but crypto has evolved and this community can tap into those offerings.

Currently we have just been trading them between each other on Discord. We are working on coming up with solutions to get liquidity back to the project.
Omg, this insane weirdo is still at it? Fucking insane! I was last on there years ago and he was doing this crap! Crazy!
Yeah it's pretty insane that he is still out there doing that. It's been a major problem because of the lack of activity and then he is swooping in and downvoting like that which sometimes blurs out our videos. Half the time I feel like I'm just countering his downvotes out there.
Activity got real low because of all the issues and since I set up my Leader node the chain has still went down 3 or 4 times. I have a backup running as well but the way that chain is set up it doesn't jump to reserve nodes so if more than 1 Leader node is down currently the chain halts.
The solution is pretty easy. It's just a matter of these other leaders running nodes in data centers. There are free trials out there they can easily tap into for the time being.
I have had the conversation with them and right now we are at an inflection point because the chain needs to be up for me to continue to build anything on it.
The situation with DTube is sort of a prelude to the future of these other chains. If there is only 20 people on DTube and maybe a couple thousand on HIVE at this point unless there is funding and the incentive to develop there they will just jump to build on chains that are on the first page of CoinMarketCap.
If you aren't going to get funding it makes sense to build where people are.
With DTube I have a plan but I want these guys that are still leaders to be on board with it.

The Ionomy implosion was terrible for several of these projects. 100,000 DTC got trapped on Ionomy
