Brewtalk #4: Micropayment Social Media

What's up Steemians and Beer lovers!

A lot of people are talking about it, and I went and checked out Channels together with @camillagomes. My girlfriend made an account to understand how the platform works, and we reviewed it together. Some things to consider:

-This platform is not decentralized and is not part of a block chain, decisions are made only by the site admins.
-Having lots of coins doesn't really change your status, as content is valued based on views only.
-This is not a substitute at all for Steemit, the only common thing is the ability to post media.
-If you have a lot of followers on Steemit or other media platforms, you may be able to make quick cash with the platform.
-Since there is no incentive to keep the coins as mentioned above, I don't know if it will be able to sustain a constant price rise as investments will be extremely liquid.

Most importantly: I think Steemit is the way to go if your true desire is to make great content and be rewarded for it. View count based rewards can work if you are a big youtube or Instagram hit, but if you are someone like me who wants to write about personal interests and play with cryptocurrency, Channels might not be the place for you.

As for brewing, I got a nice surprise planned for the Old World Imperial Russian Stout, and I will follow up this video with more info on the materials and the schedule for the brew. Thanks for watching.

Cheers and see you next time!

Observed the same things after a month on this platform. Just one thing in contrast, having so many followers wouldn't even lead you towards good number of views because most of the people don't stick to posts on their FEED, rather they moved towards TRENDING and HOT for getting maximum curation rewards.
Maximize the earning has become the first priority for all and actual purpose of this blockchain is seemingly vanishing with each passing day.

Makes sense, there is just too much incentive for selfish gains.

Got a link to the other platforms you checked out? :)

Sure, here is an example post from @camillagomes so you can see how it works: https://channels.cc/c/85e32e15-ce95-415b-8682-d60d6717c65d
