dTube Upload Problems! Has Anyone Seen This?

I setup my dTube account. I tried to upload a video and it looks to go through correctly. However when I upload the snap (Thumbnail), I get a IPFS error message.

I tried to upload different videos and my jpg's are quite small.

Does anyone have any ideas? I would like to start posting ALL of my videos on the blockchain.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Hello folks! I'm a web developer and been uploading videos to d.Tube almost every day. I will resume here the "not do" and "have to" for a success full publication on d.tube.

1. The Snap image must be uploaded while the video is uploading.
2. The video must be below 1Gb.
3. You need to wait until the video has been uploaded to submit (it can take quite long depending on the network)

Some times, even following that it doesn't work, probably because the network is saturated. If that's the case go do some nice fun stuff for some hours and try again later :)

Dude I have tried to load videos up and have waited days and hours, done every thing you have suggested and all videos are below 1Gb my videos won't load? Is there something I am missing? should the PAI setting be adjusted? do I need to be on IPSF? any would be great I really want to start utilizing the platform.

make sure your tag isn't more than one word no spaces I have to put a comma after my one word tag to make it work.

Having this exact issue, after last submitting content about 24 hrs prior just fine, now I cannot upload a 1.2 MB video file at about 29 seconds. I, too, am receiving the same error prompt.

I have been having this same issue for two weeks now. Everything looks great, the video even plays and the TN seems to take... then hit submit after entering details very carefully, and ...nothing. It just won't submit. I've tried different tagging, and different times of day/night. It's plenty small as it was to be a test video clip, Mp4. just won't work.

If you are using google chrome via computer or smartphone and it doesn't work try switching to Firefox. It worked for me.

Hi @mister.green :) A lot of people have had issues with it, so I asked @crimsonclad on the #PAL (peace abundance and liberty) discord chat during her radio show while she was helping minnows learn about #Steemit and she pretty much said that the developers are still working out the kinks and that it probably isn't anything we're doing wrong. She also said it was not a bandwidth issue. The gist of it was to keep trying as you have time available to do so.


So I guess we keep trying. Lol. It's been so consistant with the same exact issue I just don't know what else to do.

Glad i came across you guys. I been testing to see if i can upload my vids. And it is frustrating ....i thought i was doing something wrong. Ive done everything everyone here suggest...n even when it tells me it could download. If you are using Google chrome and doesn't work then switch to Firefox. I used my phone for that issue resolve.

That sucks because it works for me on phone but laptop firefox doesnt work well with dtube.

In fact I am beginning to wonder about why so many people seem to be having a blast on the platform and so many others can't even do the simplest upload. The network can't be that overloaded ALL of the time. Maybe there's a limit on how much SP you need to have to be allowed and it's not written where we can see it? I have no idea, but I'm tired of YT and would love to use Dt. I've about had it with trying and I know someone with a decent, yet not super high amount of SP who can't get her fairly popular show to upload on DT either. I think it does not seem to be right what is happeneing. If it were that broken there would be no one getting on it.

@wetstein, I always keep possibilities like that in mind with everything I'm seeing going on. After a decade + long wake up call to the things that are going on (I was already pretty awake, just didn't see the rest of the picture I suppose..) from a situation that I had found myself in, almost nothing surprises me. I tend to assume many things are not as they appear. Of course I would love to say it's impossible, alas I cannot! Time will bare out the truth.

Oh, yeah, definitely there are controlled opposition alt sources, be it CIA or several other alphabet soup agencies that front for those who believe they should be ruling over everyone.

I came here too so I could use DTube and have tried repeatedly without success to upload a video. I have another account at bitchute.com. You can set it where when you upload a video to youtube, it automatically uploads to bitchute. No limits and no hassles. No points or money either.

This is going to sound too simple, but I've got it mostly working for me by changing to a different browser. For some reason firefox (as suggested above) didn't work when I used it but Opera did. There are still occasional glitches, but it's been a lot better and I have had success with it a handfull of times now... it seems to work the first time unless the que is really long.

YT sucks, and bitchute does look like a pretty good option, but I don't know anything about the company or who runs it. I like this platform because of the lack of censorship (unless that changes) just based upon the principle of it! Of course getting a some rewards instead of having your vids wrecked with adds, view count manipulations and de- listing of content in the search is a huge bonus too! Thanks for this. I did it during the upload and made the file less than 1 gig. Do you suggest we do during off hours or just random times to see if it'll upload. Also is there a way to upload the video and keep it on DTube? I upload the video and get denied on the cover image. But it's nowhere to be found on my account as even unpublished. You have to use (mp4) format or (WebM ) only. and dont close the tab you use it to upload until you play the video.

To delete a video you have posted on Dtube, just log into you Steem account and find the post/video. From there you can delete it.

Hi, I am new to d-tube. I managed to get one video uploaded. But I'm struggling to upload my next video. The video is MP4 and it is 32 minutes long. I've followed the process exactly as described above and at the end I just get "ERROR Unkown Error". Can someone please help me? My snapshot is a .jpg file and my video is mp4. I have 1 video uploaded already and the first one uploaded fine. I'm stumped why I can't get the other one up. Can someone guide me?

Videos larger than 1GB can face with the problem I reccomend you to lower the video resolution and try again howeve this week Dtube was having some problem in uploading it is fixed now it might be because of that. Thanks for feedback

IDK if this will help anyone... but, I have heard that you need to wait for your video to upload, entirely, before you try to upload your snap-shot. I am going to go and try this myself, right now...

Also, can anyone point me in the right direction when it comes to editing my video on a Windows computer? I'd like to do some editing before trying to upload raw video. I've been out of the video-editing game for a while now, so I don't know the good software any more. By "good" I mean free, shareware, free of watermarks, bugs, etc. Is there some good shareware or freeware out there when it comes to video editing???

So I tried everything and nothing worked until I added one tag by typing it (not copy and paste) all lowercase. Also, I noticed that the video file title I was uploading had spaces so I removed the spaces and added a dash. It finally worked!

I've had no problems uploading videos now, at first l had a problem. I was using Opera Browser with VPN on and was able to upload videos, but not publish them. When I turned off the VPN. I was able to upload videosand pulish them. So people who are using browsers with VPN. Should turn the VPN off to upload videos to D.Tube or use a different browser for uploading D.Tube videos. Only Problem I have now is, I can't edit the video description once a video has uploaded or delete a video, if I wanted to replace it with video with a proper description.

Are you use the PRIVATE posting key, or just the posting key? Make sure you click that little button and it reveals a different key. Key is located in Wallet > Permissions (I think)

Try clicking 'take snap' which will take a snap of a frame you want from the video. Go into your computer folders under 'downloads' find the snap and upload that. Hope this helps.

My first video didn't play, like everyone else here. Then I ran it through Handbrake and then that upload worked. Just did the same process and now the new one doesn't work. Really embarrassing to have a permanently nonplaying vid on the blockchain. I hope the fixes will make these dead videos come back to life.

I have also used what you recommended, which converted my video from 3.6 Gb to 1.24 Gb. I don't know what help is it the file size, or a different codec that the program encoded the file in. I'll experiment more, and see what gives the best results.

When I try to upload a video to DTUBE the spinning logo never stops and I cannot submit my content. Also under the video it says "Video bitrate: 0 B/s"

Mine was also spinning indefinitely, but I had a bitrate showing (10.1). On my 4th or 5th try, it finally uploaded and everything worked. I'm not sure if all the other times were just glitches. For me, the thumbnail part works. But the video never seems to finish uploading. As it begins to upload, it starts playing. There is no progress indicator but I've waited for over an hour to finish uploading one 3 minute video and it never finishes. It would be nice if dtube specified lenght and format restrictions or requirements. I've tried this with a quicktime file, m4v, mp4, but they all fail. Not sure what is the problem.

I solved the problem in that way:

Use Chrome and close the browser when you get this error-message.
After restart its working. Sometimes you must restart 2 or 3 times.

I´, using chrome on osX wihtout any success - the video uploaded correctly butduringthe IPFS storing process nothing is happening at all - It seems that the video upload progress just dissappeard and I can try it again. I tried this process 4 times yesterday and I´m still not able to upload the video corretcty :( I tried it with Firefox as well - same issue :(

I think I just figured out why this was happening to me on both firefox and chrome (OSX Sierra). There are firewall rules that will sometimes block your connection to the dtube servers.

For example, if you see something like:
"Deny outgoing connections to dtube2.gateway.ipfsstore.it"
"Deny outgoing connections to dtube1.gateway.ipfsstore.it"

That blocks any of the uploads from working. In my case, I am using little snitch, so I was able to adjust these rules.

Just uploaded my first video w/ chrome, and tested a snap/thumbnail failed upload on Firefox after disabling the rules, and that now works.

Give it a try and lmk if that works.

I'm trying to use dTube and just can not get anything to upload. IPFS errors and after clicking submit nothing happens. Any ideas anyone?

No one is going to leave YouTube and other platforms for Dtube if it's not working properly :(

So I found I got the same error on pc....someone mentioned it was a firewall setting. So I tried on mobile instead and it worked perfectly :) that's the work around, I hadn't tested changing any firewall settings. Did you use bit defender?

i still cant seem to make Dtube work. everything is fine till step 3 where I need to add info about the video. Step 3 just doesnt work at all. Tried Firefox and Explorer... :( 1 full month already Im trying every day

I can't edit my uploaded videos it shows problem while submitting to blockchain. Also I can't even reply to the comments.

I tried today. I have been on Youtube since 2006, and in internet years that is the equivalent of the bronze age to modern people. So far - Dtube is a pile of shit.

I'm using the newest version of firefox on a mac and it's not working. I was able to upload videos a week or so ago. I'm sure the dtube crew is working on it.

i've also a problem with d.tube uploads so far.. thumb upload while video upload works fine, but after video upload the system tells me that mime type or video format is unknown :-/ i've tried already mpg, mp4, avi, m2ts.. nothing works so far, dont know whats wrong.. :-/
