RE: Dtube Improvement Ideas | Things that need to change | WastedLife

Besides the pure "technical" no-deleting problem you have described from a contributor point of view there is also a more general and legal issue about the information not being able to be removed. @sempervideo discussed this lately

, it's in German but Sophie may translate it to Mat (or you check out the english version at https://d.tube/#!/c/semperenglish - only a minor German accent, hey kudos for doing it!).

Also I am only starting to understand d.tube or steemit, so sorry if the following info may not be correct, better you double check it.
But some starting points that may help you if you don't know them anyway already:

  • There is a so called daily "bandwidth" for each user, when it is used up actions like e.g. uploads are not possible anymore.
Some sites show it, e.g. steemd https://steemd.com/@wastedlife
That may but must not be the issue you are facing as I also experience lags at voting or not loading videos often (with "bandwidth" still available). Probably an overload issue from d.tube becoming popular.
@theaustrianguy made an english video about it
  • Also as i am aware the uploaded videos are stored in IPFS and only linked into the Steem blockchain (again, check out @sempervideo IPFS explanations by Sophie or look for english ones from others). Maybe those links can be removed or the files abandoned.

Hey thank you so much for this. Great reccomendations and help. The bandwith allocated is new news to me and might be a good reason why the uploading gives us troubles at times.
Again thank you for the great refferences and info :)
