This Vlog is about cellphone and social media addiction and how steemit and dtube have helped me to begin to overcome these addictions. I'll be talking much more on this subject as I feel I have been trapped for the last four years and am finally being set free. I also mess around with the eurorack at the end so stay tuned to check that out.
I got my first smart phone around four years ago and originally hated it. It didn't take very long before I was addicted. Apps like facebook are specially designed to make users keep coming back many times throughout the day. One could even say they are designed to be addictive.
The fact that I don't get notification from steemit and that I try and vote less than twenty times a day has made it a great way to replace facebook without some of the more addictive elements. I am able to set my own schedule better and decide when and how I want to get on the platform. Having a linear timeline of posts from people I'm following makes a big difference, it cuts down on the feeling of having an infiinite scroll that you need to somehow work your way through. Over all its felt really great to cut my facebook time down to around 20 minutes a day.
I really think smart phones are cutting down on real social interactions in the real world. This is a serious problem and I am definitely as guilty of this as everyone else... so please put your phones down and connect with a human!
Oh hey look I got a baby right around time to play my eurorack, so the music is being done with rowan in my arms... don't be surprised if you see a little hand trying to grab some wires. I really should have filmed the eurorack stuff first so I had a better patch going in the background... but this is of course always a learning experience, I hope to continually hone my craft both musically and in the video production arena.

I really do feel you @illuminationst8 with the shift from facebook to steemit. I've felt so much more at peace with myself. On facebook I was starting to feel quite lonely. I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that there aren't a lot of creative, innovative people on there. But on here... everyone is creative and innovative and it's so damn inspiring!
Yea it’s definitely a subject id like to explore more. I got sucked in for awhile and somehow felt like it was doin something and pushing my music career forward when really it did very little. Granted I’ve gotten some shows and what have you through networking on Facebook but the time/reward is terrible. I’m glad you liked Rowan’s guest appearance he tends to love being in the studio. I’m hoping he’ll grow up to be some sort of sonic alchemist and it seems like he is going in that direction. He loves making noises.

The eurorack synth is a hell of a machine. Where did you get your inserts for your synth? Did you made them all by yourself or are these kits to build?

About 1/3rd of the modules I hand soldered myself. You can buy modules already made, in fact I happen to build modules for a living working for a eurorack modular company. I didn’t design any of the modules myself though. Some of them are from kits others I have built from open source projects on github. Mutable instruments releases all of their designs as open source so I have built a lot of those.
