Hello Hive! π
Here I go again β after a three years hiatus! π Inspired by my good friend @xrayman's discipline and dedication to posting daily on Hive, I decided to follow his example and drag myself back into posting on a daily basis. π«‘ Maybe I will skip a day or two here and there in the future, but at least I am making a public commitment to return to the platform on a regular basis.
My current favourite frontend interface to Hive is Ecency, both on mobile and on desktop. So I intend to use it for my daily ramblings.
I think it's also a good opportunity for me to re-introduce myself. π I have been on Hive (back then known as Steem) since October 2016, so for 9.5 years already. π΄ I've made some amazing friends along the way, here to name just a few:
- @scrooger
- @minimining
- @pardinus
- @xrayman
- @livinguktaiwan
- @zirochka
- @ewkaw
- @papa-pepper
- @roelandp
- @arcange
- β¦and many others whose name I might have omitted here, but carry with my in my heart and memories.
I am currently 46 year old, as of time of writing this. I live in Portugal (hello, @ewkaw ! π΅πΉπ). I was born and raised in Southern Russia, but my ancestral roots are from Ukraine, πΊπ¦ and I'm a Swedish national πΈπͺ (or, as we say, a subject to the Swedish crown π). I am happily married since two years ago. My professional background (since 2020) is in FinTech and the financial services industry, working in Compliance Operations for the past 1.5 years. I have MSc in International Financial Analysis, specialising in digital assets (aka crypto). I volunteer teaching Esperanto once a week (I've been teaching it on and off for the past 30 years, give or take).
I love travelling, lifting weights, reading sci-fi and fantasy, playing computer and video games, and learning about blockchain technology and cryptocurrency (I spent a couple of hours every single day researching the latest developments in the industry and following the market movements).
That's it about me in a nutshell. If want to know more β please drop a reply and I'll be happy to answer! π€

ΠΡΠΊΡΡ! β€οΈ Good to hear from you, friend! That meet in Amsterdam was epic!! π And now my younger sister lives there too, teaching law in the University of Amsterdam.
Are you planning on attending HiveFest10 in Malaysia in October?
Not sure. This is a quite expensive journey.

Hey, welcome back!!
I see life has been treating you well since we met in Amsterdam and I hope you're on enjoying married life
Hey hey, thank you! β€οΈ
Indeed, life has been good, by God's grace. π I married @n2foodadventure (whom you also met in Amsterdam) and we will be celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary a few weeks from now. Which will also coincide with the first anniversary of our arrival in Portugal, in early June last year.
We really hope to be able to attend HiveFest10 in Kuala Lumpur in October. If everything goes well, maybe we will see you there? π
I'm so HAPPY and GLAD to be a source of inspiration to someone so life committed person as you are. I'm so honored with that mention, my friend!
I'm sure that among all your hobbies and personal interests you'll find lots of interesting material to share with the community!
PS: I've started to read, "little by little" the first post about the roots of your ancestors!
This part is magical! That what movies and books are inspired from! True life changing decisions!
Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!
And "welcome back"!
Obrigado, o meu amigo!! β€οΈπ€π

Welcome back!
I read this more often and always question myself why people have a goal to post on a daily basis. Especially when you have to drag yourself into it. It sounds more like a job than a hobby that way.
But maybe it's not explained the right way.
Thank you! I think one of the key success factors here on Hive is consistency of posting quality content. By committing oneself to daily posting, consistency will be guaranteed. Of course, quality has to be on par as well. So, one can say that: Consistency + Community + Commenting + Quality = Success.
I was blessed to make an equivalent of a couple thousand dollars on Steem and, later on, on Hive. I want to continue my journey on this platform. Not only for the sake of steady income, of course, but because of all the amazing connections I have made and friendships I've forged through in the past 7 years.
I hope it makes sense. βΊοΈ
I understand that consistency is important. I try to post regularly as well. And as you say quality is important too.
I just don't get why people force themselves to write a blog every day. I sometimes hear from people that don't know what to write about. Why not skip a day, or even a couple.
I mostly make photography blogs, but in autumn and winter, I go out with my camera a lot less, so I have less content to make blogs. It is what it is.
Enjoy your time back on Hive!
