Yesterday the house I live in for rent burnt.
It´s been declared unsafe to enter for now.
So I´m officially homeless now, staying with a friend.
Cause of fire still unknown, but the fire started in a wooden shed behind the house,
where the owners keep their ebikes and power tools with rechargeable batteries.
I was not at home when the fire started, the owners were just having lunch and they escaped unharmed.
So now all I can do is wait for police clearance to go in, because the house has been sealed and it´s illegal to enter and see what can be salvaged.
The fire moved from the shed to the upper floor, the roof, so I think there was no fire in my appartment downstairs , but maybe damage from the firefighting water and/or smoke.
I´ve been living there for ten years now, a nice place with nice landlords and neighbours.
Such a desaster!
Good thing no one got hurt. It sucks though that now you don't have a home! I'm sorry to hear, and I hope things will get straightened out soon. Also, hopefully they can determine the cause of the fire, so something like this can be avoided in the future.
