I'm in the UK - not worth trying to build an earth ship here, the planning system is too anti. Better off abroad.

Great! Your not wrong things a re becoming very authoritarian here for sure. Where about's are you in the UK. I hoping I can find some loop holes and know a few people who might help 💯🐒
I'm currently in Hereford.
I think the easiest way of doing the whole eco-village thing here is just to head to Wales and basically copy what Lamas did (excuse spelling there, I can never remember how many Ms or Ss!)

Lived in Hereford for a brief time on 09/10 nice spot. Yes I've seen there idea however you spell it. The rules are ridiculous here I agree and it's tricky. But I want to find a way to do it and expose the loop holes and get people on board to the idea here 💯🐒
I don't think there are many loopholes! You build something in England without proper planning permission, and eventually you'll end up being forced by the local council to pay to demolish it!
All it takes is one conservative dog walker to dob you in, and there's millions of those in England!
My farther has done a lot of work with planning permission for sustainable eco villages / properties, he's had some success with a few places in the south west. I hope to use him and get some sounds advice 💯🐒
Well that's some good news!
And the SW does sound familiar as an eco-friendly area.
For me, abroad sounds much better. TBH I'm in this for the people/ quality of life/ low cost of living elements as much as the sustainability.
