SEX EDUCATION FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AT ABADINA COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN

in #education6 years ago (edited)

Today, we took another step in the right direction. We all are exposed to the journey called life but it happens that we travel in different directions and under different circumstances.

I grew up in a home where sex education was not one of the topics to be discussed as parents are always scared not to expose children to these things at a tender age.

Justified maybe, but that puts the child in a disadvantaged position concerning the subject matter.

Our world today has evolved from the point of time will tell, to the point of tell as at when due. Time will tell has killed alot of children as they got exposed to some of the sexual ills which include rape, abortion, abuse and more. Sex is no longer a thing to be kept form the children. Well, discretion of parents is advised as to when such information should be given to these children.

Remember: Information is what goes "in" and "forms" you, as they say.

In a nutshell, we went all the way to educate the school children on sex education, emphasizing abstinence and strengthening their convictions on staying off sex radar until they are fully ready. It was a great time with them as the teachers also joined in the event and we had two Doctors speak to the children from the professional angle.

Here are some of the moments shot at the event.
