Do you send your job resume in Word format or in pdf?

Resumes can be sent in either form based on varying conditions.

Some companies actually do specify in what format Resumes should be sent. In this regard, you would only do well to send in the instructed format. Sending in a different format could lead to automatic disqualification as it qualifies for non adherence to instructions.

However, the reason why people prefer to send Resumes in PDF in cases where it is not specified is because the person on the other side (opening the file) may be using a windows or word version different from the one you used. In such cases, the arrange could be distorted.

If the fonts you used as well (for those that use special/installed fonts) is not available on the system opening the file, it would also disrupt the articulation.

But sending in a PDF format means it is not editable and can be viewed the way you have it, regardless of the Windows version or whether the font is present or not.
