Education for women has been fought for a long time in Indonesia. Raden Ajeng Kartini became one of the female figures who are known to be persistent in fighting for it.

But in reality, education for women is not yet in Indonesia. Because of the strong tradition, many women can not afford higher education.

Economic and patriarchal factors seem to be inevitable by women. In fact, according to educational psychologist Reky Martha, education can be a chance for women to make their lives prosperous. With a high education, women can provide knowledge for themselves and people around. Women can also increase their life.

"The dream for the school is still a lot of doubt, they are still afraid," he said.

According to Reky, many women in some areas in Indonesia are still lack of education. This is usually due to the lack of school facilities and family needs that require them to be the backbone.

So far, Reky noted that Musi, Magelang, Bima, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta and Maluku areas are examples of areas that are still left behind in terms of education. These areas are lagging behind due to the difficult access and lack of facilities provided to the community.

"Parents should be educated about the importance of education, must open the horizon and must understand the role model in education is also important," he said.

Reky also said that in the remote part of Yogyakarta there are still many women who can not continue their education because they have to be married for the sake of family survival.

Although women have an obligation to take care of children and husbands when they live together, it can not be a barrier for women to reach the highest education.
