Before watching the film, I didn’t know what the bigger bubble was going to be. The bigger bubble was the aftermath of the housing bubble. Anything after 2008 talking about the housing bubble, was the bigger bubble. Basically, it was saying how sweeping all of this under the rug isn’t facing the issue head on. After watching the film, a lot of the people involved backtracked what they said. Seeing all of the different clips with clear evidence of what they said and then another clip of them saying “I never said that. I said this…” was very eye-opening. Ever since 2008 there have been goals to make sure it doesn’t happen again, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it did. One major thing that caught my eye was the number of times they said to just print more money. That didn’t help anything it made it worse. Obama went into office knowing what was going on and he tried his best to take care of it in the best way possible. It was a continuous cycle of where the error was. After, there were so many different stimulus programs for the Americans. In the housing bubble Clinton and Bush both had a common goal of wanting as many Americans as possible to own homes. In the bigger bubble, Bush said that Americans should stop buying homes when they know they can’t afford it. There was so much he said, she said, and it was quickly falling apart. They also argued that it wasn’t a big issue, but it clearly was because the banks were failing, and the stock market was crashing. Other corporations were bailing out banks, but they didn’t use the term bailing out. No one person wanted to take the fall because there were so many people involved. In all of the interviews most of the people that played a part in it said they wouldn’t go back and change anything because it either wasn’t a serious issue or it was happening for so long you couldn’t stop it.
