Hey, I had found 10 interesting facts about the English language and I've thought "Yo, I really should post it on Steemit!". So let's look at that!
1. 11% of all of the English language is just the letter 'e'.
2. The word "Goodbye" is came from an old sentence - "God be with you".
3. The word LOL (Laugh out loud) has been in the Oxford dictionary since 2011.
4. English is the official language of 67 countries!
5. You cannot rhyme the words silver, orange, mouth and purple.
6. The oldest word that is still in use in English is "town".
7. The longest word that is found in the dictionary is "Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis". It's a type of a lung disease. Wikipedia
8. "Set" has 430 different meanings.
9. The word "therein" has 7 letters and it contains 10 words! The words are , there, he, in, rein, her, here, ere, therein and herein.
10. Over than 80% of the information that has been saved on the internet is in English.
