The time had arrived, and I just knew that even though I don't have revenue generating business all set up for me to step into and that I have to set up from scratch. Gladly, I partnered with one of my colleagues whom I had worked with for almost 4 years at my first job. The good thing was that we were aligned on the same vision, we wanted to create a group of companies under a technology company and we thought to call it DigitAlley.
We started working on 2 projects simultaneously, one was an e-commerce platform which we both wanted to kick-off as soon as possible and we had expected it to be the Cash Cow of our business portfolio. In just a few days of our entrepreneurship journey, we were approached by 3 doctors based in UAE who wanted to work on an e-health platform for their home country - Pakistan.
Being all so ambitious we went working on both the projects on a full-throttle and we started developing the web apps, android and iOS apps for both the digital platforms. Both the ideas we were working on were now aligned with our end vision of setting up tech startups for our country (which could be later on scaled globally) which would have a positive impact on the nation, overall.
We started working on DigitAlley from May 2017 and ended up going to Startup Istanbul in October 2017, our e-health startup, Jeevay Sehat, was selected as the top 100 for participation amongst the 25,000 applicants worldwide. We ended up making it to the top 15 finalists - finally! However, getting investment materialized is not so simple after all, we kept bootstrapping for another 3 months after we had come back.
