It has been more than six months for the most advanced imaging modality, namely Computed Tomography (CT) Scanning in the radiology unit of the hospital where I work is damaged. Today another vendor's technician came to check the severity of the CT scanning equipment. Damage to this imaging modality equipment is triggered by the instability of electric current in the hospital. This has become a classic in our hospital and in our country.
With the damage of this imaging modality equipment, for the time being patients who need CT scanning services are referred to hospitals in the provincial capital. Previously, we served around 10 patients with this imaging modality every day. CT scanning equipment is very useful in diagnosing several diseases such as tumors, fractures of bones in the skull, bleeding in the brain, narrowing or blockage of blood vessels including the heart. But the one with the most imaging modality is the head, especially in patients who have traffic accidents. In our area, traffic accidents are still the main cause of patients being hospitalized. Because in our area the awareness of road users in obeying traffic signs and awareness in using safety equipment is still very low.
Seeing how vital this imaging modality equipment is, the needs of this imaging modality in our hospital are very valuable. With this equipment, it is easy for neurologists, oncologists and neurosurgeons to perform medical procedures to treat the disease. In addition to improving this CT scanning, this year our hospital will also hold another most advanced imaging modality, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) with a capacity of 1.5 Tesla. This imaging modality tool is very useful for examining soft tissues in human organs such as the spinal cord, brain, and muscles. Also the organs in the stomach.
