Eye health affects overall physical health. Unfortunately, many people ignore the frequent disturbances in the eye resulting in delays in detection of larger health problems.

"Knowing early eye problems can affect your overall health Even if you regularly check your eyes, eye problems can occur suddenly and require special attention," said Sayoko Moroi, professor of ophthalmology and science, visual science at the University of Michigan Kellogg Center.

If you experience any of the unusual symptoms below, you should immediately check with your doctor.

1. Eye pain or feel like burning

Inflammation or irritation is the main cause of your eyes pain and burning. This condition is called blepharitis caused by bacteria or small mites that live on the eyelids.

Another possibility is due to inflamed nodules, infections, or inflammation of the eyelids oil glands. Your doctor will usually ask you to use a compress to reduce the inflammation, and surgery if necessary.

2. Dry eyes and redness

Redness means your eyes are disturbed and blood vessels dilate, and can be caused by several things: chemicals such as onions, or allergic reactions. Another cause that can make your eyes become very dry is when your eyes do not produce enough tears to make eyes well lubricated.

Moroi usually recommends using eye lubrication or artificial tears, but if that does not work you should see a doctor immediately.

3.There is a mole or spots on the eyes

If you have a mole or spots on the eyes and it was not there before, maybe you need to see an ophthalmologist soon.

"Look at your new mole, because they are potentially malignant, called melanomas," Moroi said.

Although this is very rare, it still needs to be watched. If a tumor or melanoma develops in the back of the eye, visual disturbances will soon appear, ranging from blurred vision can even lead to the loss of the retina of the eye.

4. Your vision is shaded

Shaded vision occurs because your eye muscles are not aligned properly, Moroi said.

It can happen because of neurological problems or maybe even a brain tumor or stroke. If it's just a muscle problem, sometimes the prism can also be used temporarily in the glasses. The use of prisms can help improve your vision by bending the light to align the two images together. There is also a surgical approach to repairing muscle unmanagement, Moroi said.
