Easy health tip: Try this refreshing lemon, cucumber and mint water

With a new season upon us, you may feel overwhelmed from your weight loss or fitness goals. The key is to do things that are sustainable–for life. If you’re not up for overhauling everything in your life, take baby steps and make one change at a time. An inexpensive habit to change is what we drink. It’s easy to reach for sodas, sweetened teas, coffee drinks, and other sugary beverages, but these choices sometimes add several hundred empty calories. Making a large pitcher of infused water not only adds tons of flavor, but it also cleanses the body and jump-starts your metabolism. Here is what you need:

  • 2L of water

  • 1 lemon, sliced

  • 1 medium cucumber, sliced

  • 10-12 sprigs of mint

Add all ingredients to the water and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight. The flavors will meld deliciously.

Bonus: To switch things up, you can substitute or add oranges and limes. Any citrus will do. Also, slivers of ginger may add a little kick to your water.
