This is my entry for Covid19 photos for #thaiphotocontest63 hosted by @thaiteam. During these past two months, everywhere you go in Bangkok, you see must people having their protective masks on. People who don’t wear masks would be attracting rather hostile gaze from others. Now, people who don’t wear masks will not be allowed to go into 7/11 stores, drug stores and supermarkets to get your fruits and vegetables.
But the latest measure for preventing the spread of viral infection has been developed into compulsory check for fever of each customer on top of compulsory mask wearing, plus optional hand sanitiser at the entrance!
So people have to queue up for temperature check before entering the supermarket. There are coloured tapes on the floor for enforcing social distance of one meter at least. This social distancing does not always work when people have to queue up for limited offer of one hundred packet of super cheap masks(four masks in a packet). Luckily, I could get one packet of cheap surgical masks that day . I have been collecting several cotton masks and surgical masks. Some of these have been given to friends and I have to distribute some masks to villagers later on.
People queuing up for super cheap surgical masks, there were only 100 packets on the day! Some people were quite disappointed when they ran out of special offer masks.
Free alcohol gel is available in all supermarket and drug stores. But there are both automatic hand gel dispensers and free standing bottles in all big supermarkets. Thai people are very passive and easily persuaded into accepting these new normal lifestyle as most are so afraid of getting Covid19. One of my neighbours expressed obsessive fear of Covid19; she did not want the lockdown to end! I think the best protection is to harden oneself up so that the immune system is strong enough to stop the coronavirus from attacking the receptors in the body. High doses of Vitamin C should be taken daily, at least 2000-3000 milligrams each day. Then wearing masks, washing hands and social distancing should work together nicely.
ตอนนี้วิถีชีวิตของคนไทยได้เปลี่ยนไปมาก ทุกคนใส่หน้ากากอนามัยหรือหน้ากากผ้ากันไปทั่ว คนส่วนน้อยเท่านั้นที่ไม่ใส่หน้ากาก เราชอบลืมใส่หน้ากากก่อนเข้าห้าง เพราะเราไม่ใส้หน้ากากตอนขับรถ แล้วเราก็โดนคนมองแบบแปลกๆบ้าง และคนอื่นทักบ้าง เราขี้ร้อนมากและหายใจไม่ออกถ้ามีหน้ากากผ้าหนาปิดจมูก เราก็จะประเมินความเสี่ยงว่าปลอดภัยหรือเปล่าในแต่ละสถานการณ์ ถ้ามีคนแปลกหน้าหนาแน่น อากาศไม่ถ่ายเท เราก็จะใส่หน้ากากของเราที่เตรียมมาในกระเป๋ามันที ทีห้างทุกแห่งจะมีคนคอยวัดอุณหภูมิดูว่า คนที่เดินเข้ามามีไข้หรือเปล่า และจะกำชับให้ทุกคนใส่หน้ากาก แถมยังมีเจลแอลกอฮอลให้ล้างมือด้วย
นอกจากนี้เขายังเอาเทปสีแดง มาติดที่พื้นให้คนยืนตามจุดที่กำหนดเพื่อรักษาระยะห่างประมาณหนึ่งเมตร แม้แต่ในลิฟต์ก็มีเครื่องหมายให้ยืนตามด้วย แต่ที่เราชอบคือการมีเจลแอลกอฮอลให้ล้างมือฟรีหลายจุดมาก คนไทยใก้ความร่วมมือในการใส่หน้ากากอนามัย และการใช้เจลล้างมือ แต่การรักษาระยะห่างยังทำไม่ค่อยได้ ส่วนการล้างมือบ่อยๆนั้น เราแทบจะไม่ค่อยได้เห็นเท่าไรนัก คนส่วนใหญ่กลัวการติดไวรัสมาก เพราะกลัวเจับและกลัวความตาย เพื่อนบ้านเราคนหนึ่งมีความกลัวมากจน ไม่อยากให้หยุดล็อกดาวน์ เราคิดว่าการปัองกันที่เราควรทำ คือการเสริมภูมิคุ้มกันให้แข็งแกร่ง เราอ่านและติดตามว่าคนที่มีระดับการศึกษาดีมากๆ และหมอที่รักษาแบบองค์รวมว่าเขาแนะนำพวกเดียวกันเองอย่างไร คนที่เป็นนกรู้พวกนี้บอกว่า ต้องเสริมวิตามินซีวันละ2-3 กรัมต่อวัน วิตามินดี3 และสังกะสี (ซิงค์) ทุกวัน จะทำให้ร่างกายต่อต้านไวรัสได้ดีมาก เราฝาเองก็ตุนวิตามินหลายอย่าง ยาฟ้าทะลายโจร ตลอดจนยาจีนที่ขาวปักกิ่งกินต่อต้านโรคโควิทด้วย ยังมีชาอีกอย่างหนึ่งที่ดีและแพงมาก เขาใช้รักษามะเร็งได้ผลดีมาก และมีสรรพคุณต่อต้านไวรัสดีเยี่ยม คือ Chaga tea. แต่ต้องสั่งซื้อทางอินเทอร์เน็ตเท่านั้น เราก็เลยใช้วิตามินซี และฟ้าทะลายโจรเป็นหลัก เพราะหาได้ง่ายกว่า และมีราคาถูกกว่าของนอกมาก

Not too sure how effective those temperature guns are. Better than nothing I guess though.
It’s for psychological support, I think. Normally people who are sick with fever wouldn’t go out shopping any way. Unless it were at the airport, this would be quite good for screening people.
People are too fearful and need some tangible reassurance. I think they should look at their own eating habit and immune system!
Yeah healthy lifestyle is probably the best way to avoid the sickness, though that takes work lol.
