CANBERRA - Wine seems to be overtaking beer as a beverage choice of Australian society. Statistical data on wine consumption in Australia continues to increase.

Recent data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) show the average person drinking 44 glasses of beer standard less than in 2008.

But wine consumption actually increased, with an average of seven more glasses per person over the same time period.
