Red Paradise, about 33cm long yellow and brown, and yellow beak. Adult male birds can reach 72cm including the red-blooded ornament of hair with white tip on the side of the stomach.
The dark emerald-green fur and its tail are two long black double-stranded ropes. The female bird is smaller than the male bird, with a dark brown face and no ornamental fur.
It is endemic to Indonesia, Red Cendrawasih is found only in lowland forests on Waigeo and Batanta islands in Raja Ampat district, West Irian Jaya province.
