It is simply "learn".
Anyone who made it big and has sustained the value they give in exchange for money has learned the ropes before the riches.
They didnt just bolt out and started a business on the wings of enthusiasm. They learned, took little bets and had a mosaic of success and failures until incremental achievements became monumental.
