Ethereum's Raiden test network has been deployed

Good news for Ethereum

The Raiden test network has been deployed. This is a good first step toward scalability in Ethereum. For those who don't know, there is a video below which describes what Raiden is.

Raiden is basically Ethereum's version of the Lightening network. In essence it is off chain scaling, which has pros and cons. In the context of Ethereum, the fact that it could beat Bitcoin to the punch on this is interesting. At the same time Bitcoin has less to gain from something like this than Ethereum because Bitcoin must remain Proof of Work while Ethereum is headed toward Casper.

Exciting times for the Ethereum. It's interesting to see how the currency develops and for those who invested, exciting times! Looking forward to reading your updates on it.

It is not actually meant as being a currency rather a fuel which is used to pay for transactions. Currencies build on top of Ethereum will be interesting like a stablecoin for example SAI from makerdao.com

What do you think ethereum can be a right platform to build a p2p lending app on the top of it? The app needs almost immediate transfers.. Thx
