:
Hey there Steemit, I’ve got a new AI Memory tool for you to use. You will get interactive surprises in the form of your memories at random times. It even happens outside of Facebook. Wanna try it out?
:
Who made it? I’d like to reward and upvote the creator of the tool if I decide to use it.
:
One of our employees made it. Actually I don’t know which department they work in, but they’ve already been paid a salary, so no need to know who made it.
:
Hmmm…ok, no thanks.
:
Hey Steemit, I’ve been noticing that you don’t post status updates any more. What’s up with that?
:
Well, your algorithm doesn’t work very well, I don’t get an increase in my reputation when I post on Facebook, and you don’t reward me economically, either. So, when I add up those 3 things, it doesn’t really make sense to write a status update anymore on you.
:
What do you mean I don’t increase your reputation? If your post is popular, it gets pushed to the top of your friends’ feeds. Your post gets more views.
:
Well, you don’t display a number next to my name. You have no way of calculating a number that represents how others feel about my content, character and integrity.
:
Hmmm…I see your point. And what did you mean when you said that I don’t reward you economically? What’s that about?
:
Well, in my world, users’ upvotes (equivalent to your Facebook Likes) represent money. So, when I get an upvote from one of my friends, I am rewarded with a certain amount of money. The amount of money varies and is dependent upon how much stake one has. If one has a large stake, then that user’s upvote is worth more, than say someone who has a small stake. But my friend doesn’t have to pay me any money from their account. Having Steem (money in Steemit) powered up, makes this wealth-giving property possible. Regular money doesn’t have this attribute. And you don’t have anything like that.
:
Hmmm.....You mean some of the users are kind of turned into investors and stakeholders? So, it’s as if the users have the chance to turn into those who own Facebook stock?
:
Yes
:
Hmmm…that’s a genius idea. It kind of gets rid of the whole need of me bugging my users to give me more and more information for the advertisers who are funding my entire existence. So, wait, does this mean you don’t have to bug your users to get their birth dates, interests, entire family history, smoothie preferences and blood type?
:
That’s correct. I don’t need much information at all to function. All I need is a username, email address and telephone number. I don’t need any other user information besides that.
:
Wow, that makes your job a lot easier than mine. Hmmm…I wonder why users would hand over all their private data if you don’t require any of it?
:
Well, 54,000 Steem accounts were created in July, last month, so I guess those people found out about me.
:
Um, wanna try out my new Ai-generated movie of your Tuesday afternoon?
:
I've done that before. It’s not that exciting, plus I don’t really need it.
:
Damn. Maybe what people need is way more basic than what I had assumed. I mean, we just got done with a super duper fancy dancy AI secretary for our users. But maybe what most of them need is just money to survive. I don’t think Zuckerberg really thought this through at all.
:
Well, there is one thing I have to deal with that you don’t.
:
What?
:
Whale wars.
This is a perfect way for anyone who wants to know the difference between FB and Steem Platform to read , I think it's much easier this way then explaining it literally . You are so creative woman ! @stellabelle
Definitely, How can one post a steemit blog on facebook?
This really summarize the story , it's all about the appreciation that steemit offer where there aren't any platforms could offer. This community motivated the users to hang in here, reward them with high reputatuon and money in return , you give steemit your effort and time then keep doing this eventually you will get back more than you aim.it's like a tree the more you care the more quality of fruits you get. Am new here and i found it so hard to get attention to my posts however i'll never go back untill it done. It's not about money only indeed steemit is great community to sgare thoughts, experiences and discussion with open minded people , glad find such a fantastic cimmunity. Till now i read many great articles and found extraordinary people like you. I have many things to share with you steemians ,all of this gratitude that i felt on steemit after 13 days am not felt this in 7 years on facebook according to me there is no comparison at all @stellabelle
this was really special to me:
Facebook it appears has become too big, and too corporate. Steemit is much more like a community, and Facebook feels like that giant warehouse where you work, and nobody eats lunch together. Steemit is like a big potluck dinner, where people are trying to get each other's attention.
exactly as you said , have a nice day
Hi @stellabelle I've published a post about you, check it out if you can, thanks.
30 Best Steemit Bloggers Of The Day To Follow 3rd August 2017

Totally.... Someone said "Nice catch" to me yesterday in reply to a comment I made about an obscure similarity in two pieces of pop culture. I was on top of the world. :-)
The ironic difference between Steemit and Facebook is that here we are transparent and yet enjoy complete privacy. Everything we voluntarily do here is recorded in the blockchain and our wallets and transfers are transparent and visible. And yet, there's no privacy violation here. Nobody collects data on you to sell to others or to use for advertising. It's the exact opposite of how Facebook is structured and I love that.
yeah, i've thought of the ironic aspects, too. It's the first place where everyone can see everyone's bank account. This is truly weird. And we can use pseudonyms, but yet we can see each other's money. It's like a complete reversal of Facebook, and the more time you spend in here, the more outdated Facebook feels.
Very Good post! really like it!
Nice post :D
HAHAHA! Awesome post, I love it! :) BTW, I hate those generated post as well! I hope this post gets in front of Marks Zuckerbergs desk! Steemit is the future, facebook WILL eventually die out as they can only copy people for so long. They are too greedy to copy this wonderful platform.
You know you can send the post to your Facebook, just click under the PROMOTE button there are social media instant links, go ahead send it to you FB. I'm sure if enough sharing of this post happens on FB, IT WILL BE NOTICED.
Awesome, and hits the nail on the head for why Steemit is going to continue to grow. It's got FB whipped and it's still in beta. I don't even check FB anymore.
It's cool to see how such a powerful and simple idea can be so game changing even as it's being worked out. It's fun to be at the ground level of something that's so disruptive.
i hope in future steemit will evolve to future of social networks, and all will receive rewards from their stories, status updates, now we are far away 12 million non unique people, and facebook is billions but we growing fast and we got chance to be first pioneers in social networks reward system:)
Your originality and conversion of facebook and steemit deserves an strong upvote! Plus, your comic is funny and just plain cool! Keep posting comics!!
LOL, very creative, thanks.
Simply steem is the way of the future, 1000% RESTEEMED
Amazing way to know the difference between facebook and steemit
one thing steemit does not have is privacy
do u really want ur chat with ur girlfriend public
you can use busy.org and use the private chat function. Your account looks like this:
busy.org and steemit use the Steem blockchain, so you can decided which interface you like the best.
So means busy.org and steemit.com is the same thing with different interface?
Here's your account on Busy:
https://busy.org/@vegeto
thanks
Hahaha, nice post
That ending! I only wish you had someone who would be willing to dress up in a square cardboard box so you could make this into a video! You would act as the perfect Steemit.
those eyebrows haha XDDD
It was so funny. Thanks
Cuuute :) And true!
thanks. How are things?
Good and crazy... ;)
Whale wars lol. This is super creative. You must be super yunk to come up with this !
(y) think so too
Lol creativity at its best. I'll resteem this
Very cool thanks !
I only have 1 "problem" with this exchange. You incorrectly characterized the number of new Accounts that were created on Steemit by calling them "people". In many cases, these new accounts are not actually "people", but bots, or another Steemit user's 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 30th Account.
Otherwise, awesome post! :)
I have edited it a bit, and called them accounts, but I left the other 'people' there.....thanks for the critique.
I'm sorry for calling that out ... the growth of Steem is amazing and I hope that it continues for a long time. I would prefer that the growth is of real people, as opposed to all of these silly bots that provide no value to the community (other than upvotes).
Thanks for being an amazing contributor and supporter in the community!!
Actually, I prefer those who critique my work. It's like getting editing services. I want my writing to be as good as possible, so I appreciate you taking the time to find flaws in it, so i can improve. Thanks.
They also provide a nice business earning for the whales that operate them, the upvote bots that is.
I'm not a bot, or human, I am the alien studying humans.
Yeah, I actually have a post about the upvote bots. Feel free to check it out on my blog as "The Epic Failure of Steemit, and Why you Should Care".
Link to my blog.
I would link to the article, but feel that doing so is a bit inappropriate to do in a completely unrelated post. A blog link on the other hand is less intrusive (in my opinion). If @stellabelle wants me to remove the link though, I'd be happy to.
Checked out the post you mentioned, and you chose a better way to mention it than just a blatent link, I/m sure many wold appreciate that.
That was fantastic! Always fun to see how you interpret things and put them out there in creative ways.
This is great!!
This Post was Added to the Steemit Social Media Queue.
Thank you!
@stellabelle A super cute way of promoting Steemit! I love the kitty images with the logos of facebook and steemit as their eyes! Through the comic dialogue, you have highlighted the shortcomings of Facebook in a very satirical vain. Thank you for this fantastic article. I always like the way you uphold the Steemit name and promote it. I am not just saying this. By coincidence, I had mentioned it in my only blog today with Steemit as tag, so it is carved in blockchain history. :) Upvoted
Well, I am certainly not a squeaky clean, cheerleader type......Steemit has come a long way, and there are still many things that can be improved upon. However, for me personally, I have to step back from Steemit, and take inventory on all its advantages over existing platforms. It's easy to get over-attached, and emotional about Steemit, and want it to really kick ass in every way possible. I was not aware that changes took so much time, because before Steemit, I had no idea how decentralized, consensus communities worked. They are slower to change, but way better for humans, and allows us finally to grow our mindsets, in a cohesive way.
nice article :)
That was both hilarious and informative. Well-played.
Haha this is funny and clever, but facebook and steemit are not the same. If you combined facebook, reddit, instagram and twitter, you'd be a bit closer to steemit. I do the the conceptualization though. Hopefully steemit can keep spam at a minimum, unlike the mounds and mounds of garbage I see on Facebook and other SNS's
Isn't that comic a bit biased?
Of course I can't say much about facebook, since I avoid it because of privacy.
Just amazing! @stellabelle Nice touch with the finish.
That ending!
I'm ashamed to admit that without this post, I would not know the entire point of steemit. Lol
Thank you!
this is exactly why i wrote it. Thank you for reading.
And this is the reason #Steemit is just plain awesome haha
Lovely Thursday to you and yours!
That was very entertaining.
But also, incredibly unbelievable.
F-c-book has never been that open and honest with me.
F-c-book are lying liars that lie, (just like NASA, see my post)
And they would squirt around most of these questions and constantly change the topic to something they are promoting.
This clearly makes it evident why steemit is the greatest social media platform and other huge organisations should be wary of its might.
We may see implementations of rewarding users in the future on places like facebook when steem reaches its millions of users and other platforms see steemit as a threat.
Great Cartoon @stellabelle
thanks.. did you see that you won my contest?
Wow.....best
I like your post.
@bukharisulaiman
I'd probably be cool giving Steemit my smoothie preference...
good job
HaaHaa! I love it! Whale wars? At least we have a lot of whales!
Vote
This is so true! Steemit is the next Facebook, rewards are bonus! :) Nice post @stellabelle!
Upvoted and also resteemed :)
A bit long for a comic, but you do a great job getting to the essence of Steemit and why FB will never be the same.
nice post
Yep, nailed it! Facebook, yawn. Steemit is where it's at!
Great post nice comparison between Facebook and steemit , I almost forget Facebook after joining steemit. Steemit rewards and recognize our ideas. Yunk is
Awesome! Very creative way to highlight the differences between platforms! Sharing to try to convert some more Facebookers to our side!
Very entertaining, and gets across the point that FB is just a big evil information sucking bohemoth earning millions and giving back nothing real to those who earn it those millions (that's all of you who use it sharing everything about you).
Steemit is sooo much better than that, NO ADS for one thing, they don't want to know EVERYTHING about us, and they offer the chance of REAL REWARDS too, how #cool is that.
You got an upvote & resteem from me.
Steem on beyond the moon, lets make it fly. Good luck to is all.
Good I like your photo
Great!!this tells us the difference between Facebook and steemit in a amazing way.
Well done👍👍
