RE: A Recipe For Courage

in #fear5 years ago

Too few of us are brave enough to do the right thing

Just look at the state of the world, society, families, and individuals to know that statement is 100% true. I couldn't agree with you more.

We're afraid even to be ourselves in most cases, or to befriend those who have chosen to live in authenticity, because we'd rather fit in to a group and feel accepted, than face the world feeling alone.

What is it that is so important about fitting in with the group that we would so readily compromise our own integrity. It's tragic!

We all have the potential to be courageous.

Yes! Just because we don't utilize it, doesn't mean we don't have the potential. I agree, we all have that potential!

Yes, I agree the belief in the possibility of something better, in something better, no matter how we define it is essential. In short, we need HOPE.

Yes, a rule of thumb is to ask yourself if whatever you are so worried about or upset about will matter 1 day from now, 1 week from now, 1 year from now, or beyond your lifetime. Chances are that if you zoom out enough most things won't matter all that much.

I believe this is an important exercise because it will give us a better idea of what does matter!

Everyone on the planet suffers. No one is alone in their suffering, and yet for some reason we feel like we might be. Isn't that odd? If we step back we can quickly and easily see the sufferings of others.

I completely agree, if you think about it, fear is arrogant. It really is. I like this perspective!

fear is almost an arrogant sensation, borne of the belief that what happens to you is important.

I enjoyed this. Great advice and nicely written. I hope more people will see it. :)
