Your butcher bird reminds me of the grackles here. They are territorial and try to drive the other birds away. They even chase the big raven although they are so much smaller.

Isn't that interesting Jo because the butcher bird is relatively small compared to the magpies and crows and he with his butcher bird mates give them curry regularly.
