Massive drop in births and fertility in 2023! I wonder why?

in #fertility3 months ago (edited)

In 2023, all across the world, the number of births dropped in almost every country and many countries by 5-10% with some significant European countries dropping by more than 10%.

This is an existential threat to civilisation that is getting very little attention, although some in the MSM are starting to notice.

Even Africa has dropped below replacement fertility and the civilised world is facing extinction.

What is going on?

What major global event happened in the the years leading up to 2023, noting that babies take 9 months to make so the factors affecting 2023 births are things that happened in the period 2020-2022?

Do you think any of the following things could be a factor?

  1. Government restrictions that prevented people from socialising and finding partners;
  2. Government mandated jabs that contained mRNA fragments of unknown effect but which clearly killed quite a lot of people and are causing chronic sickness in others;
  3. Government restrictions that caused massive economic harm to the weaker segments of society;
  4. Government authoritarianism and unwillingness to admit mistakes that caused huge loss of public trust.

This is very sad. Predictable, but very sad.

If birth and fertility continue to drop, suddenly all those young couples who say they don't want children, will desperately want children. It's human nature to want what we can't have, even if we didn't want it when we could have it.

It's like primary elections in the US, where citizens vote for their candidate, but so many people turn their noses up and say they won't vote and that those who vote are part of the problem. Yet if their primary vote is taken away (which is likely to happen someday as it switches to a caucus) suddenly all those non-voters will flip out, crying over how their voices have been silenced.... except they never voted, so what's the difference? The difference is that people never want their options taken away, even if they profess it's an option they don't want. Whatever option is taken away is the option everyone will suddenly desire.

The point isn't explicitly on your list, but I would call the reasons: stress.
Constant bad news, fear, changing the rules every other day, economic hardship, physical stress from masks, jabs, loneliness.

Correct.

If you cannot afford a home; then you shouldn't have kids. What percentage of people in the first world can afford a home?

!BEER

Yes, this is true and government COVID restrictions harmed the weakest sectors of society the most meaning more couldn't afford a home and thus didn't start a family.

Hey @apshamilton, here is a little bit of BEER from @yintercept for you. Enjoy it!

Did you know that <a href='https://dcity.io/cityyou can use BEER at dCity game to buy cards to rule the world.

I can think of so many reasons why this is happening, but top of my list has to be high standard of living. People can barely afford a homes or live descent lives..

Many people say this but fertility rates are higher in less wealthy areas and in general fertility is inverse to GDP per capita.

Also the cost of living has been a problem in many countries for many decades.
It is not a recent thing.

Ask Bill Gates, I'm sure he is baffled.
Funny how words have two meanings sometimes.

You think the vaccine is related?

I think it is COVID tyranny related. Jabs may well be part of it but other terrible tyrannical actions by governments such lockdowns, restrictions, masks and general fear mongering also have played a part.

It is not really possible to break out the jab factor from the available data.
