Indy waited until Maria left the room, then swept Jean off of her feet and gently carried her over to the bed. After carefully laying her in the center of the mattress, he joined her and gathered her in his arms. They were both content to share a loving embrace, their talk naturally turned to their daughter. "Jared, do you think she'll ever fall in love?" Jean inquired, looking straight into Indy's eyes.
Upon seeing the worry in her normally jovial brown eyes, Indy consoled her by saying, "It's inevitable, but I promise that when it happens, she fall hard."
"That's true," Jean said, mollified, "remember the day we met?"
"Do I ever," Indy smiled, "I thought I'd been run over by a battleship."
"Me too." Jean replied, and then lapsed into silence as the snuggled up to her husband.
Indy looked down at her with an idyllic look, "I love you honey."
Jeans only response was to snuggle closer, and whisper, "I love you too."
Indy and Jean spent the next hour locked in a loving embrace, exulting in the joy and tranquility, that is until the chime of the intercom intruded on them. "Uh, dear, don't you think one of us should answer that?" Jean inquired as Indy ignored the chime.
Indy shook his head, "Nope, let them get their own beautiful, sexy, loving woman. You're mine." Jean blushed and told him again how much she loved him. Indy cursed as the comlink chimed again. "It had better be important." He complained, reluctantly releasing Jean then rolled over and activated the Comlink. "Yes?"
Even though he couldn't see the person on the other end, he recognized Jania's voice, "We have a message for you."
Indy wasn't expecting any calls. "Who from?" When Jania told him it was from Commander Jones, he couldn't help but to chuckle, "What does Jonesy want this time?"
"It doesn't say sir, just that he would like to see you ASAP."
Indy cocked an eyebrow, "Must be important. Tell him I'm on my way." He said, and then shut off the intercom. After talking to Jania, Indy stood up and straightened his vest, then walked over to the dresser and picked up his rank pin and attached it to the inside of his vest. Before leaving, he gave Jean another kiss and told her that he'd be back soon.
