The key factor is to have something good enough for a company to sell and make a profit on. Only once you're at that level does marketing becomes important.
I've read your stuff and I like it. However I think it still needs heavy editing before an agent would be interested.
My advice:
Focus on quality, quality quality.
Ignore 95% of the praise you receive on the internet.
Read above and beyond your chosen genre. Read the very best stylists to bring better style to your own writing.
