Yesterday, I had the chance to visit 14/8 Cafe at the Đông Anh intersection and was truly impressed by its atmosphere and historical significance.
The name of the cafe recalls an important event in Vietnam's history, August 14th, when Japan surrendered, and the Vietnamese people rose up to gain independence, marking the beginning of the August Revolution.
The cafe is designed with a dominant green tone, symbolizing the color of the Vietnamese military uniform. The interior is spacious and airy, filled with greenery, creating a comfortable and close-to-nature feel.
The combination of green and brown wooden furniture brings a warm ambiance when the doors are closed.
The cafe has two floors, each offering a unique experience. The first floor is the area for ordering drinks and has a spacious seating area for enjoying tea. The second floor is the main area for tea drinking, designed in a nostalgic style. The walls on the second floor are adorned with 195 flags from countries around the world, this creates historical nostalgia.
Most customers prefer to sit on the second floor because the space offers a tranquil and nostalgic feel. I was no exception and spent most of my time on this floor. Sitting there, sipping tea, I not only enjoyed the rich flavors of the drinks but also felt like I was listening to the historical stories embedded in every detail of the cafe.
ordered a cup of mango milk tea, and the fragrant tea blended with sweet mango made for a delicious drink. The beverages here are quite diverse, though not particularly unique. However, each drink fulfills its purpose by being tasty. The price is around $1.3 per cup
