My Birthday Dinner: Porterhouse and Valpolicella (and my wife's rack)

My Birthday Dinner

I love food.. and wine…. and more wine.

I eat better at home than most people do in restaurants. One of my favorite things in the world is just staying home with my wife and opening several bottles of wine and cooking dinner together.

So, for my birthday dinner the other night we did just that. We drank a few Stella Cidres and a bottle of Negroamaro while making the following dinner:

  • 20 oz Porterhouse – marinated in Montreal Steak Seasoning, Course Ground Butcher’s Pepper, Garlic Powder, Olive Oil, and Balsamic Vinegar
  • Garden Fresh Tomato and Cheese Casserole – The best side dish ever. I shared the recipe here on Steemit. Click the link to see what it’s all about.
  • Caesar Salad with a Homemade Dressing
  • Baked Potato with Butter, Sour Cream, and Chives
  • Paired with Zeni Valpolicella

After Dinner I had a nice espresso and a couple snifters of 15 yr old Drambuie. Momma made me a Pineapple Upside Cake.

This dinner was out of this world. Everything was absolutely done perfectly and the wine pairing was amazing.

Remember, it’s the little things in life that make you happy. Life is about the experiences you have and the people you share them with.
