Today when i woke up i had a craving for cinnamon bread or as we call it wentelteefjes. So i woke everybody up for a nice breakfast with them. The wentelteefjes were a thing my mother made on Sunday for us and we loved the smell and the taste really weekend vibes. So ever so often i make them in our home for my family.
The ingredients are milk, bread, cinnamon, egg and sugar.
Preferably old bread, my mum always said and the smell in the kitchen is free hahhahah
Bake them in a pan with a little butter and both sides like a minute or so max.
And that salted caramel on top of the warm wentelteefje is to die for, and for a sugar addict like me, HEAVEN.....
Ok I wil leave you craving this extraordinary breakfast idea, from my mum hahahhah and wish you a great Sunday !

Oh, yum! This sounds so good! 😋
Made me want to cook an egg!
After going thru you post. Now I want some bacon or a sausage and coffee to go along with the wentelteefjes. So hard to pronounce hahaha.
We do call them "verloren brood". Also only egss are used here at home.
Cheers,
Peter
it looks very delicious, as I would like to prove
I had these several times when I was a child. My grandmother would make them for my sister and me. They are delicious!
That just looks soo heavenly! Thanks for sharing us the steps on how to make it. Have a great day!

oh my @brittandjosie, nothing like the smell of toasted cinnamon in the house :) I'm hungry now! Love it!
I didn't have these in years!!! My mom used to make it for us when I was a kid. You inspired me to make some for my son as he had never tried or seen this before. Thanks!
Looks yummy. We make something similar called French Toast.
WoW! I just woke up with a food Woody 😁 @brittandjosie I hope you made enough for everyone 🙏

We have something very similar here we call French Toast. The ingredients are very similar, but I will use nutmeg instead of sugar. It is my 13 year old's favourite breakfast.
Looks easy and delicious and I can just imagine that heavenly smell while they were cooking! My grandkids would love this, I'll have to make it for them the next time they come!
I love it! We have a very similar thing here that we call French Toast and it is done with or without the cinnamon. Very interesting!
I sometimes top mine with whipped cream and strawberries or other fruit! Great post! I think I may have it for lunch now!
Have a wonderful week!

🎁 Hi @brittandjosie! You have received 0.1 STEEM tip from @dswigle!Looks absolutely delicious!
We will surely try this and I will negotiate with the chef.
Blessings!
Ps! The chef says that she thinks it's a type of what we call over here "French Toast" just without the cinnamon. So now we will add the cinnamon. Lol
I cant pronounce that 😂🙆 but they look & sound so freaking good! and easy to make 😍 I'm definitely game for giving them a go 👍 Thank you for the recipe and inspiration 🙏
What a delightful breakfast. There is nothing like cinnamon to give a lovely aroma to the kitchen in the morning. That looks like what we call French Toast, but perhaps a little heavier on the cinnamon. I will have to try it with caramel!
Looks just like french cinnamon toast we enjoy, with the same ingredients. And it is delicious. Never had it with the sauce, though. Instead, we pour syrup on it. Yummy.
thanks for sharing.
