Quick & Easy BLACK BEAN AND LENTIL CHILI - Food Photo Shoot

in #food7 years ago

Happy Tuesday to all you Steemians!!

I know a lot of my dishes can seem complicated from time to time, so today, I wanted to give you an easier way to cook dinner tonight.

Growing up, Chili was not a common dish in my house, maybe twice per year. However, these days it has become more popular. It's also a great way to feed a lot of people, and that is what I do all the time, feed a lot of people.

Perhaps lentils aren’t the most common ingredient in chili. But, they are so good in it and they are less noticeable to the kids than beans. I love using them in recipes.

Oh, and another bit of trivia, chili is NOT popular in Chile. I have tried to serve it a few times to our Chilean friends and they just don't get it.

As always, the RECIPE is available upon request. First request gets an upvote

Also, check out some of my other recent food posts for more mouthwatering photos!

@gringalicious, I love chili. I order child often and I like it with or without beans. Don't get me started about beans. Beautiful post as usual.

Thanks so much @runridefly. In my little 'like' world, I really like it with beans, in fact the more variety the better

Thanks so much for commenting @fatkid. I love the name by the way

Oh my, you know how to cook.

Ew, Ew & Ew... I hate black beans and I hate lentils! Having said that- upvoted (as always). I don't understand this platform and won't if I live to be 100 (which isn't that far off lol). You get $200 for black beans and lentils... I post a recipe for the world's best Sweet Potato Pie and make $0.45- there just ain't no justice I tell ya!!! Just kidding... I'm not here for the money.

It's funny what sells (foodwise) these days. I was working as a chef at a high-end Italian rest. and my boss wants to serve dandelion greens and polenta for a special ($25.00 a plate!!!). I told him he was crazy- that's what poor people in Italy eat when they can't afford food! It went over great- I guess that shows what I know!

I understand how you feel, I have many, many of those $0.45. Just keep being consistent and persistent and it will pay off. I am proof of that.

You have great writing, this was a fantastic comment. Just keep it up, you'll thank me later.

Oh I'm used to it! I've been writing on here for about 6 mos now and my posts pay much better now. Maybe I should try some more recipes... I haven't done that since I started... I just don't do pics with mine.

Thanks for your kind words!

that looks sooo delicious ;)))

Always so sweet, thanks @allasyummyfood

yumm yummm ,give me some

Thanks @orionsbelt. Thanks for taking the time to comment

Do you always use natural light? Your photography is off the charts

Always, always natural light. It drives my Dad crazy because has bought all the lighting equipment I could possibly need. But, I am a natural light freak

thanks so much @varna, I appreciate it

Your shots are perfect. I can smell the food through the photos haha

Ahh, that's awesome. Probably someday, we'll get smells thru our computers. Who knows. Thanks for commenting @lisadang

I love chilies! I never had it as kid - just not our thing.
Now I cook it from time to time, but never had it with lentils yet.

Love the photographs too :)

My winter dish this year is-> Turkey Pulled Wings with Butter Beans and Chickpeas Chili.

Difficult one. Similar to yours, one can't stop eating. :)

That sounds amazing. You should post it @wbudic

I love chili and it has become frequent at our place. We use corn instead of lentils, but those ones are more nutritive. That will be an option in the future for sure.

I have used corn before also. My crew prefers either lentils or beans. Thanks so much for commenting @liliana.duarte, have a great Monday

Your site was so delicious hehehehhe

Thanks @crisgojar
