Chocolate pancakes! Perfect for Valentine's Day

in #food6 years ago

Hey guys!
It's not Valentines day yet,but I figured I should write this recipe day before in case someone wants to make it for their loved ones,or even for them self lol.
I know that people mostly want material stuff as a gift, but I believe that sometimes some way of showing affection is much much better then some expensive presents. And again, why wait Valentine's day to show love for your beloved ones or your self.
Try making these pancakes today, and make them again tomorrow and they day after, don't be bound by some holiday haha.

FOR PANCAKES

  • 200 gr of flour
  • a pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 1 baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 250 ml of milk
  • 50 gr dark coco powder
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar

FOR TOPPING
-100 gr baking chocolate

  • 100 ml of heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons of oil

-Separate egg whites from egg yolks and beat egg whites untill they're stiff.
-Mix all dry ingredients in one bowl, and wet ingredients in another bowl.Mix them all together.Add beaten egg whites and gently fold them into the batter.
You will get a thick batter like this.

  • Heat your non stick pan, spread bit of oil on it,and lower the temperature to lower then medium. For example,if your highest temperature is 9,lower it down to 4.
-Put 2-3 tablespoons of batter on the pan and cook 2-3 minutes untill you can see bubbles.

When you see those bubbles,it's time to flip it on the other side and bake for a minute or so.

Stack them up nicely.

*For the chocolate sauce, heat heavy cream in a pan untill it's just about to boil but don't let it boil.Take it off the heat, put in chocolate and oil and let it sit the for a minute or two so the chocolate melts. After that whisk it well to combine everything.Pour it over pancakes and cover with fruit,or any other toppings you want.I prefer fruit since the pancakes and sauce is already sweet enough, and adding more sweet stuff would ruin it.

I hope you enjoy your Valentine's day, with your beloved one or your friends or just your self, whether you celebrate it or not, these pancakes will help you go through it.

Cheers!
