Why Go Organic?

in #food7 years ago

In some countries eating junk is considered socially acceptable. In other countries it's the norm to eat organic.

In countries America GMO foods are legal and it's a sad truth that most foods are GMO.

Luckily most of Europe have outlawed GMO's and other crap nasties, but that's still not enough.

We need organic, natural food.

Well what really is organic food?
Organic is a term thrown around a lot, and sometimes because the term organic has loop holes, food can mislabeled and trick customers.

Organic food is the product of a farming system which avoids the use of man-made fertilisers, pesticides; growth regulators and livestock feed additives. Irradiation and the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) or products produced from or by GMOs are generally prohibited by organic legislation.

Why go organic?

Organic foods often have more beneficial
nutrients, such as antioxidants, than their conventionally-grown counterparts
and people with allergies to foods, chemicals, or preservatives often find their symptoms lessen or go away when they eat only organic foods.

Organic food is usually fresher because there's is no preservatives keeping the food from rotting quicker.

Organic farming is better for the environment.

Organically raised animals are NOT given antibiotics, growth hormones, or fed
animal byproducts.
