I met my high school alumni for 40 years by chance. I have met these friends periodically, but my friends had met each other for 40 years. 40 years are not a short time.
When we had studied in high school, we were young boys. Now the wrinkles were made deeply on our face.
I worried whether they would recognize each other. When they looked at each other, they shouted “you are not changed, you are as same as the freshman in high school ”.
“Oh my god. Are you kidding ? You are totally different from the fresh man of high school.
My friends ! 40 years have passed since we met first time in high school.” I said.
We all laughed loudly.
It was impressive experience that even though we were old enough to retire from our job, we could find the appearance of our young days.
I thought that the reason my friends have preserved their young day’s appearance was that they kept the purity of their life.
I know how they have went through the difficulties in their lives. It was amazing they have kept their attitude and the moral standard withstanding the difficulties.
As a result of this attitude in their lives, they could preserve their appearance of young day’s.
We had talked so much on our high school days. We all remembered our teachers and friends.
The best thing of meet up with old friends is having a dinner together.
We went to old restaurant located in Daehakro, the downtown of Seoul.
This restaurant was as old as us.
The name of restaurant was ‘Haewhadong kalguksu’. They have served noodle for several decades. The appearance of this restaurant have not been changed yet, since the restaurant was opened at first.
There were lots of people inside.
We ordered side dishes for the toast.
Yellow one is fried fish with egg cover.
Bassak Bulgogie (Dried Bulgogie)
Boiled octopus.
We drank several cups of fruit wine. I know they were heavy drinker. But they didn’t drink as before for the health. We became old.
There is no exception in aging.
Last main dish was noodle.
It was excellent. I strongly recommend to have a taste when you visit Korea.
After finishing dinner, we went into the caffe near the restaurant and continued to talk each other.
We got back to home after meet up.
When could we meet again together? Another 40 years from now ?
Nobody knows.
Only the destiny would permit us to meet again.

It is so good to meet old friends that haven't met each other for years.
We are all getting older after school. but from the eyes of our classmates, we are still the young boys in heart.
The happiest thing is that when the old friends met and said : " you have not changed a bit just like years ago ." that is really a good feeling .
Yes! What is more important is that you can cherish each other's feelings for a long time.

It's what's on the inside that counts! The happiest and most energetic people I know are also some of the oldest I know, there's so much more to a person than age.

It's really an amazing moment when you meet your old high school friend. I just left school few years ago still I am overwhelmed when I run into my old high school friends.
Ive just started following you recently, this post is another reason why.
Its full of honesty and warmth and real life, tinged with a slight hint of melancholy about the passing of time. As a 51 year old myself I can totally relate.

The dishes all look good to me, especially the boiled octopus. I love the texture of it.
It is always nice to catch up with old friends and memories. I am going to meet few of my friends after 25 years. Going to India on Feb 16th.

Wow! I can relate to it. With lot of emotions rushing in and lot of laughter. You will stand in disbelief and struggle to hold back those memories rushing back. Only age has changed. I keep in touch with my batchmates both in high school and college. This coming May would be our 28th years in high school, we have a yearly reunion while our college is once every three years. Oh, its impossible when you said maybe the next reunion might be after another 40 years from now. In fact, some of my batch had gone already, oh for sure next years we are all bringing our medicines. But the happiest remembering how we did in our young age with the old faces now.

It's only been 9 years since I've been out of high school but my best friends are still my high school friends and evenings with them are always a treat!

One thing I like about meet ups is simply exchanging of ideas, unwinding and reuniting.
Imagine Facebook CEO getting to have a reunion with Amazon CEO, Microsoft CEO, Cocacola CEO, imagine that kinda meet up. Or let's take it away from Business for a moment. Imagine Bill Gates getting to meet with Robert Kiyosaki, Barrack Obama, Beyonce or Drake, I'm sure Beyonce would pick an idea from Bill Gates or Barrack for her next studio session or I'm sure Kiyosaki would pick a line or two from Obama for his next book.
Everybody gets to leave there more enriched, nourished and ready to try out new things.
