VITAMIN B6 (pyridoxine) is a pyridine derivative of the composition C8H11O3N. In the body it is phosphorylated and enters into the active group of enzymes that carry out the reamination of amino acids. That is, with the help of these reactions, the body builds amino acids that are formed in the process of metabolism, which are necessary for it at the given moment, amino acids, if they do not come with food.
Important for the use of animal starch (glycogen), for the synthesis of chemical intermediates of the brain, red blood cells. Forms pyridoxal phosphate, which ensures the normal functioning of more than 60 enzymatic systems. One of such systems, is engaged in the transformation of tryptophan into nicotinic acid. Daily intake of children - at least 5 mg, adults - about 50 mg. Alcohol, smoking, pregnancy reduce the content of pyridoxine. Oral contraceptives and medications commonly used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (penicillamine), tuberculosis (isoniazid), and parkinsonism - inactivate vitamin B6. In necessary cases, it is usually delivered by injection, but it is better absorbed in the complexes.
When pyridoxine deficiency occurs, deterioration of the skin, general health, hair loss, dizziness, numbness, inhibition. Overdose can lead to convulsions, numbness, decreased memory capacity, pain in the bones and muscles, tremors in the fingers, arms, legs.
But all this can occur with severe overdoses. Termination quickly removes the symptoms of intrasications.
