Overdose of the King of Fruits?

in #foodlast year (edited)

Durian, the king of fruits has been very expensive for years.

Due to the tight restriction of the Covid-19 pandemic which has somewhat reduced the amount of tourist as well as the amount of Durian exported, we in Malaysia finally has a more reasonable priced Durian and better quality too.

Musang King, is the most demanded Durian species, it was so creamy with strong taste.

One of the seller, informed that the quality would somehow be affected as the prime season is nearly over. And as the amount of Durian produced reduced, the price slightly increased from the weeks before too.

Was also told that the Durian taste and texture are very much affected by the weather i.e if it was a rainy day the Durian harvest the next day most likey will be softer.

It is also recommended to keep the Durian in freezer if you would like to keep if for more than a month. So i keep one box in the freezer and just has a taste of it yesterday (it only last for a week though, finishing it too fast). Apart from the difficulty of pulling the Durian apart (frozen together), it actually taste just like icecream even nicer.

There is also a lot of Durian buffet out there, but i prefer eating it and enjoying every single seed at my own pace at home.

If you don't mind crowd, you can eat Durian at the stall,my first time eating at stall with friends and it feel like Durian Party! so merry, with so many people eating with you (separate table of course). We ordered 2 Musang King and a coconut each...yummy yummy.

They have gloves prepared for you, but i find it clumsy eating with glove still prefer using bare hand. Finger licking good haha...

So, do you love or hate Durian?
