A trip to the Tip

in #freedom6 years ago (edited)

Today I woke up fresh after having a mad night the night before. The hose was still on running from the asectia (waterway) and so I went around flooding the 3 gardens here to soak the ground. Last night I went upthe riverbed to my old home to get some mule manure and took it back to mix in an empty patch in one of the gardens.

They dont pay for water here so they sifen it from the waterway at night - water should be free for everyone (concidering down the track it is just flooding out and not being used or collected and saved and goes back into the river)

We were getting the trash ready yesterday to load the bus up todayand go to the tip and had a good drop off at the dump. I found plant pots and a demijon for wine and put it in the bus before we left.

Randomly enough and only in Spain I guess, I found there a sack full of lemons so I took a few 🤣

A few days back..

... I had the idea to get flat stones from the riverbed and to set them in the ground on the lounge floor, but then remembered there is a small marble factory that makes marble kitchen work tops, so we stopped on the way back from the village and checked out the trash for off cuts from the kitchen sinks.

Sadly, due to the planned crash of the economy, it seems they havent fitted any kitchens and there were no big pieces of marble there and the place was closed.

We got some though, perfect pieces for the edges of a floor for now

I use to lay a slab of marble on the grill over the cooking fire and they cook on the marble. It was great!

I needed to do some washing up and took advantage of the Asecia water comming from the hose. Here we heat water on fire and then the sun keeps it very hot all day so we have some most of the time to wash ourselves and clean whatever. Usually I take a box from the supermarket to use instead of a plastic bag, and these are good enough fuel to heat up the pot.

The Next Job to do, is a 200m fence to keep the pigs out.

Its a cloudy day so its another good day to be getting on with things outside whilst the sun isn't shining.

For now though we just went to get water and are sat at the local bar smoking a joint 😜
