It's not Black Friday again (phew) but it is the next best thing, Boxing Day sales, and then on the horizon, JANUARY SALES! Woohoo! And advertisers have already begun to lure thousands to the nearest shopping malls with their red and white survival-mode, attention-grabbing alert campaigns, acting as bait for the avid shopper who is forever in search of hope for the latest bargains, whilst queuing up for potentially hours on end for changing rooms, toilets, check-outs, restaurants, the list goes on. All of this, just days after spending so much time, energy and money (probably in the shopping malls) on loved ones for Christmas. Is it really necessary?

Time, and time again...

Now I don't think there is anything particularly wrong with wanting to purchase some new material items from time to time, but is it really worth spending so much of our own time trying desperately to land a bargain on these specific days that attract hoards of people packed so tightly together, like the madness of the morning commute and rush hour on the London Underground, adding stress, strain and manifesting massive levels of anxiety for all? Can we wait a little longer for the crowds to diminish? Apparently not in so many cities around the world.

What else can we do when we have this precious free time?

Relax, enjoy your holiday time with your friends, family, out in nature, doing something productive, fun, creative. Crowded shopping malls don't offer that, at least from my experience, and from my observation of others during these times. Just ask the screaming, crying children? I think we can all make better choices for our own peace of mind, enjoyment and fulfillment at this special time of year when family is brought together.

We have only a few days left of 2017. We could use this time to enjoy ourselves, laugh, reflect on the year just passed, ponder on and visualise what we would like to achieve and accomplish in 2018.

So what will you do with your time until New Years Eve, and what have you envisioned for yourself in 2018?
