Decentralize Yourself!

in #freespeach4 years ago

If you have many followers on FB or IG it might make sense to encourage them to use decentralized networks, especially in times of increasing censorship like in the present crisis. The mainstream narrative must be questioned, alternative information must be accessible.

Kind of wondering if it's too late because so many like and strongly encourage censorship of anything that goes against their beliefs/the mainstream narrative "for the greater good".

Oh good @gric you TOO are here on Hive. I've just returned to Steemit yesterday and everything is topsy turvey just like the real world! So, I'm moving here to Hive as well, it seems all the good ole' Steemians are here.

This is good advice, though I unplugged a bit from FB and insta for awhile, but now the world is SO changed, who can say the future holds.

I'm not sure what peakd.com is? Is it like HIVE?

So good to 'see' you again :)

Hi @donnadavisart! Good to see you here!
As far as I know there are two front ends to the Hive blockchain. It's https://peakd.com and https://hive.blog
PeaKD offers more functionality.

Oh another one? Wait, so if we post on peakd.com is that also ANOTHER crypto currency as well? Does this mean we can post on steemit and hive and peakd.com? So many changes... I hope your part of the world is okay with our current situation. The US is in mostly lockdown.

No, peakd.com is only the front end for the Hive Blockchain. If you want to post on the Steemit blockchain, you can use steemit.com or steempeak.com.
Before the hardfork there was only the Steem blockchain. Now it's two chains going separate ways. They are only connected by their past, therefore you can see all the old Steemit posts on Hive up to the point when the hardfork occured. Whatever was posted on Steemit after the fork is not on Hive and vice versa.

Gotcha, thanks so much @gric Now, to jump back into all of it full tilt. :)
