Next Step

Shade had just finished her first degree and was awaiting her posting letter for the her one year compulsory service to the motherland by all graduates in her country.
But the posting seem to be taking too long and so she decided to learn tailoring. The one thing she had always wished she had time to learn but couldn't because studying Theater and Performing Act and going to a fashion school was an possible combination. frank-flores-BAf3g-id7P4-unsplash.jpgsource

Shade had always got a unique sense of dressing and knew what goes. This earned her the tittle of 'The fashion police' in her fathers house as she would always compliment, condemn or correct anybody's dressing in the house especially that of her twin who cared less about what matches so long as its clean and decent.

She has been contemplating on going into fashion designing full time after the service year was over.

"Hey, what do you think about going to fashion designing full time after service?"

She had picked her phone to discuss her idea with her boyfriend.

"What? But that's so petty and below you!"

Ken, her boyfriend of since fresher year commented with sarcasm dripping from his voice as he crocked a laughter.

"Keeeeeen, please be serious."

Shade admonished her boyfriend stressing his name like she always do when ever she's frustrated.

"I told you once about this and you shoved it away saying it was something uneducated people do"

Ken reminded her about a time she had mentioned it because he saw the potential in her.

"Ken!"

Shade shouted his name in warning to covey her seriousness.

"OK, OK, here is the deal"

He cleared his voice and began to talk.

"Fashion designing is way beyond how you perceive it. Its more than adjusting and mending of clothes. With your degree and taste in fashion you could invent your brand. Design wedding dresses, babies wears, native or cooperates wears, men wears or even lingeries like the infamous Victoria Secrets." He educated her.

"Hello?"
He took a pause to confirm she was still on the line as he couldn't hear anything from her side for a while there.

"Sorry Ken, Ade wanted to pick something" Shade told him with a distracted voice stuttering on some words.

"OK! I'm back now" She announced after attending to her Twin brother who always come looking for something each time she's on call with her boyfriend.

"Where should I continue from?" Ken asked.

"The beginning actually." Replied Shade hoping that he doesn't get mad because he had said a lot that she could grab since her brother was also talking to her.

"What? No way! We'll see tomorrow. Goodnight." Ken said all of these in one breath and hung up.

She wasn't at all surprised at his response. He was always like that, impatient and annoying just like her twin brother.

"Damn boys!" She swore under her breathe as she rolled over to her favorite site of her bed to sleep.
