FreezePeach Update #1

It's been a week since launch, and while the conversation has continued at an unbelievable pace on discord, steemit.chat, in various DMs, and also on steemit posts, the amount of downvoted post submissions has been surprisingly low. Hopefully that's because very few thought they were flagged unfairly, but in case it's not...

Here's how you can submit a post for review:

Be sure to check back for any follow-up questions after submitting a link since I lack the time and resources to get to the bottom of every flag war I come across.

Here are this week's upvoted comments:

Also note, the last resteemed post is still under $0.00, so go give that an upvote while you're at it. EDIT: It appears as if the flag has been reversed!

Now I want to hear from you!

Should @freezepeach continue resteeming posts as they are upvoted, or should I stop resteeming and release them in more frequent updates such as this along with the comment upvotes?

Let me know your thoughts about this, or any other questions or comments below.

I'd like to see one page weekly summaries because I prefer to keep my timeline as clean as possible and avoid seeing resteems.

Looking at some censored posts really brought home to me just how big the wallets of the censors are - in one case over $2 million!

Here is an example of a post that managed to stay under the radar and was only flagged once - It's absolutely bang on, but nobody with any following could post this!

https://steemit.com/conspiracy/@psyopsx1000/flat-earth-cia-disinformation-campaign

This is what I commented on another of his posts:

"Your flat earth post is frigging brilliant. I wish I'd found you earlier, but I'm following you now and keen to upvote your posts.

I'll leave them 24 hours before voting though or you will get flagged.

In a whole year on Steemit, I've never seen anyone lay out the whole controlled opposition scam like that. And get away with it too, with only one lowish level flag.

I hope you keep going, but fully understand if you don't. Getting $2 for one of the best ever posts on Steemit would suck.

You are under the radar being new, but will be censored into oblivion if you ever get seen.

People like me who have built up an account don't dare touch this stuff (if I so much as hint at it in a comment, it gets censored), but you have nothing to lose (90 cents) - I really hope you keep going"

What I hope to accomplish with resteems is two-fold:

  1. Provide transparency for the posts this account upvotes
  2. Give the community an opportunity to help reverse flags

As of now, I must rely on the community for help on posts before they are paid out, since I lack the weight to effectively neutralize many of them. This ultimately means that I can't do a weekly update for the time being, although I would like to work towards that being the end goal.

Maybe until then, I can write a weekly report that covers the votes I was able to effectively upvote, and only resteem the ones that are beyond my weight, but that leaves the comments that I upvote still needing to be released in a timely manner.

BTW, that post you mentioned would definitely quality for this service, but since it's past payout there is little that can be done.

Hi @freezepeach may I know if what is freezepeach beta is all about? thanks. :)

I used the word "beta" to infer that this service still has some kinks to iron out, and that things may change slightly during the course of this experiment.

In my opinion it does not make much of a difference. But that's because I can devote a large portion of my time on my own website and Steemit.
For someone visiting less regularly it would probably be easier in bite-size chunks.

I'm just a little concerned that the resteems may be cluttering up people's feeds, and that doing a post a day or every other day may be a cleaner approach.

That's actually what I meant when I said bite-size chunks. Once a day would be fine for most people.

I agree. That sounds completely reasonable. That will probably be implemented soon unless I get some good reasons not to.

This deserves some attention. Upvoted and resteemed :)

Thanks for the support!

Upvoted! Amazing project. Ill check out your other post. I would put them in updates instead of resteem, maybe both actually.

Thanks! Don't you think that both may be a little too much, especially if more posts start coming through?

It's kind of unfortunate that this report is 60% defense of flat-earthers spreading disinformation.

However, I realize the goal is not to make commentary on the quality of the targets, but still...this leaves a bad taste.

I'm not hunting for posts to upvote. I am relying solely on submissions, and these are the ones that happen to have been submitted. I may not like the post, but as long as they're not calling for the extermination of round-earthers or anything similar, I will be upvoting.

I think it would make sense to resteem when upvoted particularly if it is at different times as there will be more chance they will be seen, than in a post with a whole bunch at once ( a post has a very short 'lifespan'. Perhaps release the upvoted comments in a post like this one if there are a lot getting upvoted.

Thank you for this initiative, and the name makes free speach sound so much fun and easily accessable (as it should be).

You got an upvote & resteem from me.
Steem on beyond the moon, we will watch it go past the moon. Good luck to us all.

You have a good point about the shelf-life of a post. Thanks for the input and the support!
