Hello everyone! So, me and my colleagues always came up with a plan of going out but it never happened until yesterday. We finally decided to fulfill it after weeks of planning to do so.

We went to Boards and Brews. It is located near our office at Santa Cruz, Laguna. Boards and Brews is a cafe dedicated to board games and recreation. It offers a collection of playable games – from childhood classics to modern favorites for both the young and young at hearts.

To give you some insights about the cafe, here are some photos:

So you see, the menu is quite affordable. The foods are good too!

You can choose to sit on the chairs or on the carpented area. As for us, we prepare to sit on the carpeted area.

This my friend is the rack containing hundreds of board games and books, too!

We preferred to play jengga and sequence. The latter, Sequence, was the one that we enjoyed the most because it is a group game. We were divided into group of two with four members each. We enjoyed it a lot because we had to compete with each other and laugh about our strategies to win.

The details and mechanics of the game are as follows:

Sequence is a board and card game. The board shows all the cards (except for the Jacks) of two (2) standard 52-card decks, laid in a 10 x 10 pattern. The four corners are free spaces and count for all players equally.
The players compete to create rows, columns or diagonals of 5 connected checkers placed on the cards that the player has laid down. Two-eyed Jacks are wild, while one-eyed Jacks allow an opponent's checker to be removed. The game ends when someone has reached a specified number of connections. Source

It was a Thursday well spent, indeed. It provided us an escape from stress at work and in life. We enjoyed the moment that we didn't even notice the time. We were the only ones left in the cafe, we even reached the closing time. We wish to have more bonding like this. So, I guess we'll be planning again and just wait until we can implement it. Hahaha.IMG_8052.JPG

Well, that's it. Thanks for reading. Have a nice weekend everyone! :D

Everything in that cafe is instagrammable! hehe. Me and my drawing friends prefer cafes like this one too-ones where we can play board games.
