Male Drivers Wear Skirts to Prove Their Point
While women have for long been wearing pants and shorts for comfort, men never did have any reason to wear skirts. However, the time has finally come where some men in France had to wear skirts to prove a point.
Some male bus drivers of Semitan Bus Company had resorted to wearing skirts to work to help them prove their rights to wear shorts to work. The reason for them to resort to this had only to do with the heat wave.
With temperatures reaching near 122 degrees, the employees decided they had to do something to get respite from driving in the heat. They were finding it especially difficult wearing trousers while driving their non AC buses.
The company was against their employees wearing shorts as it wasn’t an appropriate form of dress for the job. This is why they had provided a new line of heat accommodating, lighter trousers that they assumed would help drivers be more comfortabe even in the extreme heat.
As these new trousers did not provide much respite from the heat, the drivers decided they had to take matters into their own hands. This is when they decided to protest, using a loophole in the company’s dress code to their advantage.
As the company’s female drivers were permitted to wear skirts to work, the male drivers decided that the best way to get their point across was to turn up for work in skirts.
They were successful with their protest as the company then decided to let their male bus drivers wear shorts matching the company’s uniform color scheme of black and beige until a new dress code was adopted. So it looks like men wearing skirts does have its advantages too!
