If a whale upvotes your comment it can happen to you too. My biggest payout so far in my short Steemit journey was an upvote from blocktrades on a comment I made on somebody's meme. Pretty random stuff.
I will never forget the one time when a whale made ONE upvote and one of my articles and it earned me like $20 dollars. That was nuts. But I'm starting to learn that some people really do earn more from just commenting and curating (upvoting), you actually don't need to post a lot of articles here to earn a lot. Just post great comments on the most popular articles.
