If the shoe fits:
Improbable solutions in our lives

“Say ahhhh,” sighed the pediatric while she simultaneously looked down the toddler’s throat with the aid of a giant popsicle stick.

“I just don’t get it,” she continued. She had gone through all the common ailments but could still find no reason why her young patient was having chronic episodes with vomiting and diarrhea.

“Maybe it’s from the dog food we’ve been feeding him,” the boy’s father seemingly said in jest.

That was a good one, the physician chortled to herself. She was used to hearing a lot of bad jokes from patients but that one was enough to make her smile.

Still confused, the doctor did another scan in search of any physical sign of the child’s unknown assailant, but the answer was still elusive.

Frustrated, the pediatric eventually suggested a specialist the child visit and led the boy and his father out of the room .

Then just as the child and paraent were about to exit the office, it dawned on her.
“You don’t really feed you son dog food do you?” She asked.

“Yes we do! He just can’t get enough of it! He is always crawling around taking it from the dog so we figured we might as well just give him a bowl. It’s all he really eats,” detailed the father.

“Geeze….why don’t you come back in here, I think I know the problem,” the doctor exhaled with clear exasperation.

Although it is a silly story posted previously online, this tale is a great reminder of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous quote, “Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.”

Keep it in mind as you go throughout your day and it just might save you from banging your head against the wall.
