Why are video games addictive?

Addiction to video games

Have you ever wondered why videos are so addictive games or have not you ever spent playing a given redundancy game and you can not stop playing it. Many young people have ever played a video game whether it be mmorpg, shooter , Arcade, etc. When we start playing it is usually by instinct or curiosity to know what the game is about and if the game you like this impulse is difficult to slow down becoming an addiction that motivates you to reach the end of that game.

There are people who spend hours and hours playing their favorite video games and this situation has happened to most, me personally I play not one but several times getting to the point of not sleeping properly, evading my daily occupations including relationships social.

But, the big question is what makes certain video games so addictive? There are some factors to take into account that cause us to disconnect from the real world and lose the notion of time.

The first factor would be everything related to the visual aspect and soundtrack that make up the video game entertaining us and penetrating more and more into our brain repeating itself over and over again without us being able to forget about it.

Usually the video games are conformed by levels. This causes that at some point in the game we can stop but it is not so we continue playing since we are very disconnected from the real world (I to avoid this I put alarm on my cell because it has happened to me that I have thrown myself 5 or 6 hours followed by game without noticing). They have wondered why the current games have so many control points (less dark soul here you fuck if you do not find a bonfire jajaja ) they even advise you to stop playing and rest, because it is precisely to avoid this problem

When the video game is very easy we have the feeling that this will increase its difficulty in the next level which encourages us to keep playing more and more and causing a vicious circle losing the notion of time.

The fact of feeling challenged and overcome a level of the game we like more and more, since the satisfaction of overcoming a challenge is pleasant and we do not want to forget this feeling.

We get to a point where even the advice that gives you the game to stop playing are contradicted and I say this for the achievements that certain games have and challenge you to get them, some really without any sense, for example the call of Duty zombie that consists of surviving attacks of zombie groups that are intensifying more and more as progress in the rounds, reaching a point where if you lose the round you have to try again to overcome your personal record, entering more and more in this vicious circle.

To finish some of the games that I consider addictive in general would be the moba style which you have to advance leagues which is very frustrating at times by the poorly developed matchmaking, and the aforementioned call of duty zombie, MMORPG games like World of Warcraft one of the best in my opinion with a great lore and great dark soul. I think the games are to enjoy it and not for them to enjoy or enslave the players, have fun is what matters and forget the problems from time to time when playing a video game.
